I want my roles to be complicated: Vicky Kaushal
Mumbai– Actor Vicky Kaushal, who has been on a roll in the Hindi film industry, says that in real life he is quite a “safe” person but he doesn’t mind experimenting with the roles he takes on-screen.
“I’m a safe person. I’m that guy who has a favourite ice cream flavour, who’ll go to the same ice cream parlour and order that one flavour he likes. When it comes to fashion, I’m more of a solids and stripes guy.
“If I even feel like experimenting, it will be with shoes or sunglasses – I’m a sucker for white sneakers. With my roles, though, I’m experimental: I don’t like simple things, steady things, easy things. I want to make it complicated. I want layers, I want colours, I want shades,” Vicky said in an interview for GQ India’s March 2019 issue.
Since his debut with “Masaan”, Vicky has explored divrsw subjects and genres of films which have given him a chance to showcase his versatility through projects like “Love Per Square Foot”, Sanju”, “Lust Stories” and “Uri: The Surgical Strike”.
He is quite widely followed on social media and is also endorsing brands.
On the film front, he says he is quite open in his mind about the kind of characters he wants to take up.
“The key is to be open, to be like a magnet. But it’s important to know what you want to attract. For me, it’s good scripts. The day I limit myself, thinking that I want to do only a certain genre, a certain kind of film, I’ll be making things difficult for myself,” Vicky said.
Parineeti Chopra appeals to society to stop using plastic
New Delhi– Actress Parineeti Chopra urged people to eliminate the use of plastic from their daily routine.
At the final edition of Behtar India campaign here on Thursday, Parineeti, who is the brand ambassador of the initiative, spoke about the severe effects of plastic.
She said: “I am an ocean lover and scuba diver. I spend a lot of time under water and I cannot explain to you the kind of visible changes that can be seen in oceans because of plastic.
“We take one plastic bottle and throw it away and we don’t think about it and then that garbage goes somewhere… Unfortunately it’s filling up our oceans. I come from Mumbai. We face floods every year because sanitation system gets severely affected by plastic blockage.”
According to the “Namaste England” actress, a biodegradable alternative should be created for plastic.
And she also believes that bringing little changes can create a big difference.
“…boond boond se sagar banta hai (each drop makes an ocean). Everyone should put some efforts to make our Earth a better place to live in. Each voice is important.
“I try my best to make sure I don’t use any thing which is harmful for environment. Even if I see anyone in public place throwing garbage here and there, I scold them,” added Parineeti.
The campaign supports the community to step forward and help itself in achieving better health, hygiene and environment standards.
Amit Sharma to begin sports biopic’s shoot around May or June
Mumbai– ‘Badhaai Ho’ director Amit Sharma says he will start shooting for his next film — a sports biopic — along with actor Ajay Devgn, around May or June.
Sharma was interacting with the media at ITCH Summit 2019 here on Thursday.
His next film will focus on the golden years of Indian football between 1951 and 1962. Ajay will play the role of Syed Abdul Rahim who was a coach and manager of the Indian national football team.
Sharma said: “My next film is a football related film. It’s a period film… we will start shooting of the film in next two to three months around May or June.”
On the gradual audience acceptance of high-on-content films, Sharma said: “I think it’s a really nice time for cinema. We are getting to hear and watch good and unconventional stories and I am happy that those films are doing well at the box office. I think people are going to theatres to watch those films, that’s why they are doing good business.
Kartik teams up with Imtiaz Ali for ‘Love Aaj Kal’ sequel
Mumbai– Actor Kartik Aaryan has collaborated with one of his “favourite” filmmakers Imtiaz Ali for the sequel to “Love Aaj Kal”.
“Love Aaj Kal”, which released 10 years ago, starred Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone.
Talking about Imtiaz, Kartik said in a statement: “He is one of my favourite filmmakers and I have always wanted to work with him. I am glad it’s finally happening.”
The movie will also reportedly star actor Randeep Hooda and Saif’s daughter and actress Sara Ali Khan, who had once said that she wanted to date Kartik.
“Unlike Imtiaz’s previous two films — ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and ‘Tamasha’ — which were set in foreign locales, this one will be shot in Punjab and Delhi,” said a source.
The shooting is expected to start in Delhi next week.
The film will be produced by Dinesh Vijan and Imtiaz.
This project will bring together Dinesh of Maddock films and Kartik after “Luka Chuppi” that released on Friday. (IANS)
