Theme details:
Owing to India’s vastness and diversity, India’s ability to mingle and get mingled in, India has always embraced various cultures and made them her own.
Knowing the talent and level of creativity of the talented local performance groups, IAGB Cultural team urged them to think outside the box, do some research, find a piece of international music/ international song/ medley of international songs, and tie that to one or multiple Indian dance forms to present an eye-catching ensemble, a ‘class apart’ Indian dance performance item based on that international music piece/music medley.
So what people will get to see is super talented performance groups showcasing their talent and grace by presenting a performance item aligned with the program theme of “Naach!!! To the Rhythms of the World”!!!
The cultural program has 2 other segments to it as well, namely kids segment and Bollywood segment to ensure that the outreach and participation are all embracing and inclusive.
IAGB has also added a “Dhamakedaar” musical concert as the grand finale of this year’s cultural program. Get set to sing, swing and sway to the ambient and groovy songs presented by Boston based singing band ‘Kadak Chai’ with their Desi hits with an international twist. Golden oldies to recent hits, they will rock it all.
“Performing at the prestigious Hatch Shell is an honor by itself – and performing there to commemorate India’s Independence Day is a cultural crown to wear,” said IAGB President Tanu Phoenix. “IAGB’s pledge to the community is to raise the vibe as we show how we embrace international music by adding ‘Indianness’ to it.”
IAGB Vice President Nilesh Agrawal added: “We are grateful for being able to call the United States of America our home, where democracy and personal freedom are held at utmost priority. The community has always risen and shone for IAGB and India – so we are counting on people from our community to attend our India Day event and show the spirit of India.”
