Akshay Kumar Likely to Return as Host for ‘Wheel of Fortune India’ Season 2
Strong ratings and audience response fuel buzz around second season of popular game show
MUMBAI — Akshay Kumar may be set to return as host for a second season of Wheel of Fortune India, following a successful debut that marked his comeback to television.
According to industry sources, the show’s strong viewership and steady ratings have prompted discussions about a new season, with Kumar expected to reprise his role. His easygoing and spontaneous hosting style is widely credited with helping the show connect with family audiences.
The Indian version is adapted from the iconic American format Wheel of Fortune, which first aired in 1975 and went on to become one of the longest-running game shows globally.
Premiering on January 27, 2026, the Indian edition quickly gained traction, blending the familiar format with local flavor and celebrity appearances.
One such episode featured the cast of Kumar’s recent film Bhooth Bangla, including Ektaa Kapoor, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rajpal Yadav. A notable moment saw Kapoor offer the episode’s winnings to Yadav, a gesture that drew praise from viewers.
Bhooth Bangla, a horror-comedy directed by Priyadarshan, marks Kumar’s reunion with the filmmaker after 14 years and released in theatres on April 17.
Looking ahead, Kumar has a packed slate with films such as Welcome to the Jungle, Hera Pheri 3, and Golmaal 5 in the pipeline.
While an official announcement is still awaited, expectations are high that Wheel of Fortune India will spin back for another season with Kumar at the helm. (Source: IANS)
