Anil Kapoor: People say I’m reverse ageing, but ‘Bigg Boss’ is timeless
Mumbai– Bollywood star Anil Kapoor is confirmed to take over hosting duties from superstar Salman Khan for the third season of the controversial reality show “Bigg Boss OTT”.
He said that he is ‘reverse ageing’ but labels ‘Bigg Boss’ as “timeless”.
Talking about being the host for the first time on “Bigg Boss”, Anil said: “Bigg Boss OTT and I are a dream team! We’re both young at heart; people often say – jokingly – that I’m reverse ageing, but Bigg Boss is – seriously – timeless. It feels a bit like going back to school, trying something new and exciting.”
He added that he will bring the same energy he has given to all his projects.
“I’ve always approached all my projects with sincerity and a commitment to hard work and I’m going to bring that same energy (times 10!) to Bigg Boss! Unscripted reality has something for everyone – laughter, drama, and surprising twists, and I can’t wait to bring my own flavour to it,” Anil said.
The third season of “Bigg Boss OTT” is set to commence from June 21. The makers made the announcement on Thursday on Instagram.
“Presenting ‘Anil Kapoor’ as the new host for Bigg Boss OTT 3!!!” the caption on the post read.
“Bigg Boss OTT 3” will stream on JioCinema Premium.
On Sunil Dutt’s birth anniversary, son Sanjay pledges to follow ‘all that you have taught me’
Mumbai– Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, who will next be seen in the Kannada film ‘KD – The Devil’, is remembering his father Sunil Dutt on his birth anniversary on Thursday.
The actor took to his Instagram on Thursday and shared throwback pictures of his father. The first picture shows Sunil Dutt with his kids reading a book. The second picture is of the late actor reading a letter.
Sanjay wrote in the caption: “Happy birthday dad, I miss you and love you, I have and will follow all that you have taught me, the values, and most of all to be a humble and a good human being who helps the needy, love you dad.”
Sunil Dutt, who hailed from the Jhelum District of the Punjab Province of British India (now in Punjab, Pakistan), made his debut in Hindi cinema in 1955 with ‘Railway Platform’. He rose to prominence with acclaimed films like ‘Ek Hi Raasta’ and ‘Mother India’. He was honoured with Padma Shri in 1968 for his contribution to Indian cinema.
He married actress Nargis. They have three children: Sanjay Dutt, Namrata Dutt, and Priya Dutt. He passed away in May 2005.
In Sanjay’s biopic ‘Sanju’ Sunil Dutt’s character was essayed by veteran actor Paresh Rawal, with Ranbir Kapoor portraying Sanjay Dutt.
‘Bookworm’ Rashmika Mandanna says ‘once you start reading there’s no going back’
Mumbai– Actress Rashmika Mandanna is a bookworm going by her latest update on social media, where she shared that she is reading her seventh book.
Rashmika took to Instagram, where she shared a glimpse of the book “King of Wrath” by the bestselling author Ana Huang.
“Once you start reading there’s no going back… moving to my seventh book now. So exciting,” Rashmika said.
On the workfront, Rashmika will next be seen in Allu Arjun-starrer “Pushpa: The Rule”, which is directed by Sukumar. Most recently, the second track titled “Sooseki” from the film was dropped.
It is picturised on Allu Arjun and Rashmika. The track is composed by National Award-winning music director Devi Sri Prasad and Shreya Ghoshal has lent her vocal prowess.
The film is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers and also stars Fahadh Faasil in Sukumar’s directorial, which is set to arrive in cinemas on August 15.
She then has “The Girlfriend” by filmmaker Rahul Ravindran, who in March 30, shared that Rashmika dubbed in five languages, including Malayalam, for the first time for the teaser of the film, which is touted to be a one-of-a-kind love story. The male lead is yet to be announced.
Rashmika will also be seen sharing screen space with Vicky Kaushal for the first time in Laxman Utekar’s historical drama film “Chhava”, set on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Aayush Sharma checks in at Japanese retreat with family, says it’s ‘much-needed time off’
Mumbai– Bollywood actor Aayush Sharma, who was recently seen in the film ‘Ruslaan’, is unwinding away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai in Japan with his family. The actor is on a month-long vacation in the land of the rising sun.
His Japanese adventure began in Tokyo, the capital city which is known for its ultramodern skyline juxtaposed with historic temples. They visited the iconic Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. The family also explored the bustling streets of Shibuya, and indulged in retail therapy in the upscale district of Ginza.
Next on their list is Kyoto, a city that embodies the soul of traditional Japan: the ancient temples, serene gardens, and picturesque tea houses. Aayush and his family are set to visit the stunning Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its thousands of red torii gates. They will also visit the Osaka Castle.
Sharma’s sojourn in Japan is a cultural exploration as he told IANS: “This trip not only provided much-needed time off but also enriched my understanding of a culture vastly different from my own. I carry with me memories of a land that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity, and helps me have a deeper connection to the world beyond Bollywood.”
The family will also travel to Hokkaido and the scenic town of Otaru. Aayush has had the time to go back to his love for photography during his trip to Japan, capturing the essence of its vibrant culture and stunning landscapes.
Farah Khan unspools memories of the cinema where she watched her first film
Mumbai– Filmmaker-Choreographer Farah Khan shared a video of the historic Lido cinema hall and expressed how she saw her first film and spent her childhood.
Farah took to her Instagram stories, where she re-posted a video of Lido Cinema in Juhu, which has undergone a makeover. The video showcases the wall murals featuring iconic stars such as Dev Anand and Raj Kapoor among others.
Farah couldn’t believe it was the same theatre where she watched her maiden film.
She wrote: “Can’t believe this is Lido cinema… Saw my first film there.. N spent my childhood here (sic).”
The largest movie theatre chain in India, PVR INOX, renovated Mumbai’s Lido Cinema into a dynamic area while preserving its historic beauty.
Talking about Farah, she has choreographed more than a hundred songs in over 80 films since she joined the industry. She has even won a National Film Award for Best Choreography for the song ‘Idhar Chala Main Udhar Chala’ from the 2003 film ‘Koi… Mil Gaya’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta.
She transitioned to making films in 2004, with ‘Main Hoon Na’ starring Shahrukh Khan and Sushmita Sen. She then went on to make ‘Om Shanti Om’ in 2007.
Farah then tried her hands on comedy with ‘Tees Maar Khan’ in 2010, which received a lukewarm response at the box office. In 2014, she made ‘Happy New Year’ with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
It was in 2012 when Farah made her acting debut alongside Boman Irani in ‘Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi’, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sister Bela Bhansali. (IANS)
