Varun Dhawan Tries His Hand at Farming, Says ‘Kheti Shuru’
Mumbai — Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan traded film sets for farmland as he shared photos of himself planting rice and taking part in agricultural work.
Dhawan posted a series of images on Instagram showing him working in the fields, including using a shovel and helping with rice planting.
“Kheti shuru,” he wrote in the caption, which translates to “farming begins.”
On the film front, Dhawan was most recently seen in “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,” a romantic comedy directed by his father, David Dhawan.
The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, along with Maniesh Paul, Chunky Panday, Jimmy Sheirgill and Mouni Roy in supporting roles. It is expected to be David Dhawan’s final directorial project.
The story follows Jass and Bani, whose marriage ends over disagreements about family planning. Jass later begins a new romance abroad but becomes caught up in a series of unexpected secrets and complicated relationships.
Dhawan also appeared in “Border 2,” which was released on Jan. 23. The film is based on the 1971 India-Pakistan war and events inspired by real incidents.
Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films, “Border 2” is directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta and Nidhi Dutta.
The original “Border,” directed by J.P. Dutta, was released in 1997 and featured an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Tabu, Pooja Bhatt and Rakhee Gulzar.
Dhawan made his acting debut in Karan Johar’s “Student of the Year” in 2012 after previously working as an assistant director on “My Name Is Khan.” (Source: IANS)
