Sundar Pichai, Ranbir Kapoor, Vikas Khanna Named to TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2026

NEW DELHI — Google CEO Sundar Pichai, actor Ranbir Kapoor, and chef Vikas Khanna have been named to TIME magazine’s list of the 100 Most Influential People of 2026, highlighting the growing global impact of Indian leaders across industries.
The annual TIME100 list recognizes individuals shaping global conversations through leadership, innovation, creativity, and cultural influence.
Pichai was featured in the “Titans” category for his leadership in advancing artificial intelligence across Google’s ecosystem. Under his direction, AI tools have been integrated into major products including Search, Android, and Chrome, while the company has accelerated its push in the space through its Gemini platform.
AI expert Andrew Ng, who wrote Pichai’s profile, said his influence comes from “how widely it is used” at a time when artificial intelligence is transforming work and knowledge.
Kapoor was included in the “Artists” category, recognized for his understated performances and distinctive acting style, which have helped reshape audience expectations in Indian cinema and expand the global reach of Indian storytelling.
Khanna was honored for both his culinary achievements and humanitarian work, with recognition for using food as a bridge across cultures while promoting Indian traditions worldwide.
Chef Eric Ripert, who authored Khanna’s profile, said his impact goes beyond professional success, noting his focus on “uplifting and connecting with others.” He added that Khanna’s restaurant, Bungalow, reflects storytelling rooted in memory and heritage.
The list also includes prominent global figures such as YouTube CEO Neal Mohan, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Pope Leo XIV, Artemis II mission commander Reid Wiseman, U.S. President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Other notable Asian leaders featured include Japan’s first woman prime minister, Sanae Takaichi, and Nepal’s young prime minister, Balendra Shah.
