Rabbi Shergill Returns to Film Music With New Song ‘Talash’

MUMBAI — Singer Rabbi Shergill has returned to film music with his latest track “Talash,” featured in the upcoming Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Main Actor Nahin Hoon.
Directed by Aditya Kripalani, the film is scheduled for release in theaters on May 8.
Speaking about the song, Shergill said, “It’s amazing to see how a piece of music can acquire new dimensions when it becomes part of a brilliant film like this. Here’s wishing them all the luck!”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui also expressed his enthusiasm about working with the singer.
“’Bullah ki janaa main kaun’ is one of my favorite songs. So when Aditya and Sweta told me they have a song by Rabbi for our film, I was excited, and then when I heard ‘Talash’, it was so beautiful,” he said.
Director Aditya Kripalani said collaborating with Shergill was a personal milestone.
“I’ve loved Rabbi’s songs so much that a line from his song ‘Tere Bin’ is tattooed on my arm. So for me, it’s a milestone in my career as a storyteller. ‘Talash’, the song, speaks about the very themes that the film speaks of — loneliness and how relationships can help us change for the better. And so it’s a welcome addition to the narrative of the film,” he said.
Main Actor Nahin Hoon follows the story of Mouni, played by Chitrangada Satarupa, a struggling actor in Mumbai who connects with Adnan Baig, a recently retired banker in Frankfurt played by Siddiqui, through an online film audition.
What begins as a professional interaction evolves into a deeply personal journey, as the two spend a day connected over video calls, confronting their emotional struggles and vulnerabilities while navigating life in different cities.
The film is written, directed, and produced by Kripalani, and co-produced by Sweta Chhabria Kripalani and Faizuddin Siddiqui. (Source: IANS)
