CHELMSFORD, MA–New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar, known as NESSP, will hold a unique live “painting jugalbandi” by an Indian artist on Thursday at the temple in Chelmsford, MA. New Delhi-based artist Navneet Agnihotri will paint a live picture of Sai Baba, synchronizing his brush color with music playing.

The event is free and will start at 7:30 pm on Nov. 10 at the temple located at 290 Littleton Road in Chelmsford, MA. Agnihotri  has made over 3,000 portraits of Shri Sai Baba accompanied by the devotees. With the staunch belief in Baba and a question in mind about what his future would be, he drew his first painting  in the train while returning from Shridi in the year 1994.

nessp-flyer-cDuring the “Jugalbandi” or the fusion of music, art and poetry, the paint brush in the artist’s hand plays the musical notes while the portrait of Baba is being done, the musical instruments and the chimes produce the intense vibration and the beautiful bhajans sung by the devotees creates a unique experience.

“This is a very unique event that’s going to be held in the New England area for the first time,” NESSP said in a statement. NESSP invites all to come and participate in the live singing and dancing while the painting is being done.

A raffle draw will be held and the large size live painting of Baba will be presented to the lucky winner. The cost of the raffle is $10. For more information, visit the temple website at www.NESSP.org.

NESSP, an independent local organization that has been serving the devotee needs since a decade, is building a SAI temple at Groton, MA.
