Feroz Khan taught Zeenat Aman never to be late on sets
Mumbai–Yesteryears’ star Zeenat Aman has revealed that once late actor Feroz Khan asked her to pay the fees for the entire crew when she came late to the sets of 1980 film “Qurbani”. After this episode, she never got late on shoots.
“Feroz Khan was a very professional man. During the shoot of ‘Qurbani’, once I was an hour late on the set and the crew members had been waiting for me. Feroz Khan asked me to pay for the entire crew’s fees for that hour,” Zeenat said on TV show “My Life My Story”.
“Initially, I thought he was joking, but he was very serious. I paid for it and from thereon, I was never late on any of my shoots,” she added.
Talking about the show, Zeenat said: “‘My Life My Story’ is a wonderful concept. There is a whole generation that grew up watching these classic films. It brings a sense of nostalgia and belonging.”
“The show rewinds time and takes back to one’s most memorable days, be it about a particular song, college days, going to a disco for the first time, or being in love. It is superb to bring back memories to people, especially when they are happy ones.”
The episode of “My Life My Story” featuring Zeenat Aman will be aired on Saturday on Zee Classic.
SRK hopes fans in Egypt, Jordan enjoy ‘Raees’
Mumbai– Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, whose latest film “Raees” released in Egypt and Jordan on Wednesday, hopes the audiences enjoys it.
“‘Raees’ releases in Egypt and Jordan today. Hope you all enjoy it, and thanks for watching Indian films. My love to you all,” Shah Rukh tweeted.
The film, directed by Rahul Dholakia, is about a Muslim bootlegger in Gujarat. Also starring Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, the movie opened in India to a largely positive response.
Barriers between small, big screen fading: Mohnish
Actor Mohnish Bahl, who has worked in films like “Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!” and “Hum Saath-Saath Hain” and has also played host on TV shows as well as essayed the lead in TV soaps, finds the distance between the small and the silver screen diminishing over time.
“What has happened is that a lot of actors have put their one foot here and one foot there,” Mohnish told IANS, citing the example of actors like Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan, who have dabbled in both worlds.
“Then there are the smaller names like myself, who have been here and there,” he added.
The 56-year-old actor feels the audience wants to see their favourite actors — medium notwithstanding.
“I think this realisation has come to the actors also, that it is not necessary to be associated only with silver screen… That barrier is over and done with,” he added.
On the work front, Mohnish is currently seen hosting the crime-based show “Hoshiyaar…Sahi Waqt, Sahi Kadam” on &TV.
Southern filmdom more technician dominated: Daisy Shah
Actress Daisy Shah, who has worked in Bollywood as well as the southern film world, feels there’s only a thin difference between the two industries.
Daisy made her Bollywood debut in 2014 in superstar Salman Khan starrer “Jai Ho” and has been seen in southern films, including in “Bodyguard” and “Bachchan”.
Asked if she has seen any difference in the way of working in both industries, Daisy told IANS: “All industries function in their own way. They have their own way of doing things.”
“What I have understood is that in the south, it’s a technician dominated industry and Bollywood is a more artiste-dominated industry,” she added.
Daisy, who was last seen on screen in 2015 in the erotic thriller “Hate Story 3”, will next be seen in the upcoming romantic comedy “Ramratan”, which is directed by Govind Sakariya and also stars Rishi Bhutani.
