BOSTON–The American India Foundation, known as AIF, is brining ROOH, an Indian-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar from San Francisco, to cater food for its annual fundraising gala on March 31 in Boston.
Emceed by comedian Rajiv Satyal, AIF will hold its gala at the Renaissance Waterfront Hotel in Boston. The gala this year is co-chaired by Kunjan Anjaria & Vikram Mahidhar and Asha & Kim Shah. The theme for the 2018 gala is “Connect: Connect with a cause, Connect with ideas, Connect with the community.”
Opening its doors last February in the heart of the SoMa district in San Francisco Bay Area, ROOH has received praise for its authentic and modern interpretation of Indian cuisine. Executive Chef Sujan Sarkar’s cuisine is a culmination of his culinary experiences, transforming California produce and regional Indian flavors with modern gastronomic technique.
ROOH’s unique menu includes dishes such as the Potato Tikki with kale and spinach tempura, sweet and sour yogurt mousse with raspberry; Butter Chicken Pave with red pepper makhani, fenugreek, and butter powder; and Tandoori Seasonal Mushrooms with polenta-umps, parmesan cream, and truffle. Each flavor at ROOH is inspired by Sarkar’s personal connection and love of Indian cuisine.
