‘Dama Dum Mast Kalandar’ Highlights the Realities of Life Abroad in New Teaser Release

MUMBAI — The makers of the upcoming Punjabi situational comedy Dama Dum Mast Kalandar have unveiled an engaging new teaser, offering a glimpse into a story that blends humor with the emotional realities of working abroad.
Directed by Sukhvir Singh, the film stars King B Chouhan and Malvi Malhotra and is set to release on May 22. Backed by Starmoon Film Productions in collaboration with Chakora Productions, the film explores the journey of two friends navigating the ups and downs of life as non-resident Indians (NRIs).
Set against the backdrop of life overseas, Dama Dum Mast Kalandar focuses on the everyday struggles faced by those working far from home. Through a mix of comedic situations and heartfelt moments, the narrative examines friendship, resilience, and the emotional pull of one’s roots.
Speaking about his role as Kalandar, Chouhan said the story felt deeply personal. “I found the story extremely relatable, as I’ve had a similar journey in the industry over the past 17 years. It deeply resonated with me,” he shared. “Being born and brought up in Punjab, I feel a strong connection to the place—I think about going back almost every day. So in many ways, this story is very close to my heart.”
He also emphasized the film’s central message about staying connected to one’s origins. “When we go abroad, we should never forget where we come from. If we get the chance to return and serve our motherland, we should embrace it,” he said. “No matter how settled we are overseas, a part of us always longs to be back home.”
In addition to Chouhan and Malhotra, the film features a strong supporting cast including Anita Devgan, Rupinder Rupi, Mintu Kapa, Sukhdev Barnala, Manpreet Singh, Pritish Narula, and Sammy Gill.
With its blend of humor and heartfelt storytelling, Dama Dum Mast Kalandar aims to resonate with audiences who understand the challenges of building a life far from home while staying connected to their roots. (Source: IANS)
