Patralekhaa loves her quality time with Rajkummar
New Delhi– “City Lights” actress Patralekhaa says she loves spending “quality time” with actor and her boyfriend Rajkummar Rao away from their hectic lives in Mumbai.
“Goa is very close to our hearts and we make it a point to visit ever so often. We even joke around saying it’s like second home,” Patralekhaa said in a statement to IANS.
“This time our Goa trip was unbelievably special because it truly did feel like home, thanks to Airbnb. We wanted to spend quality time doing things we love together, and disconnecting from our hectic lives in Mumbai,” she added.
Rajkummar said it was “great to get away from the city and our day-to-day life”.
“We both really appreciated being able to do our favourite things, from watching a film to enjoying a cup of coffee together, albeit in a stunning home, a hop skip and jump from the Mandovi River. I think some of my highlights from this trip would definitely be riding around town on a scooter and going kayaking for the first time ever! It was a memorable break being away from work,” he added.
Women’s portrayal in cinema hasn’t changed: Neena Gupta
New Delhi– Veteran actress Neena Gupta says the portrayal of women in Hindi cinema has not changed and will take time.
“It (portrayal of women in cinema) has not changed at all. It will not change till the time the society changes and it will take time to change the society. The girls are changing quickly but the men are not changing. That is why the girls will go through a very bad time now till the next generation comes,” Neena told IANS here.
On the work front, Neena is currently riding high on the success of her latest release “Badhaai Ho”. She is now looking forward to the release of “Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar”.
She will also be seen in actress Kangana Ranaut starrer “Panga”,
“It’s a small role but a nice one,” she said.
Discipline, honesty will help Ahan in Bollywood, says Suniel Shetty
Mumbai– Actor Suniel Shetty says if his son Ahaan Shetty, who will soon make his Hindi film debut, remains disciplined, honest and thinks about his producers more than anybody else, he will be successful in his career.
Suniel was interacting with the media at an award ceremony of Nitrrothon by Nitrro Bespoke Fitness here on Tuesday.
His son Ahan is being launched as an actor by producer Sajid Nadiadwala in a remake of Telugu hit “RX 100”.
Talking about his son’s debut, Suniel said: “He is a simple boy and God has been kind to him. He will start shooting his film soon. He has associated with a good script, producer and director in his debut film.
“Everything is good and if lady luck favours him, if he stays disciplined and honest and if he thinks about his producers more than anybody else, he will be successful. Otherwise, it’s someone up there who has to take care of him.”
On his daughter Athiya’s film career, Suniel said: “Athiya has signed three to four films. She has started shooting for ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’ in Bhopal. She is very excited and happy, so I am feeling satisfied that she is doing quality work.”
Talking about the government’s Fit India movement, Suniel said: “We needed a movement like ‘Fit India’ since a long time. We introduced yoga to the entire world, so I think we have always been a leader and if we talk about ‘Fit India’ movement, then it is also important to execute it as well on every level, especially at school level.”
Suniel was last seen on-screen in “A Gentleman” along with Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez.
Bhushan Patel’s ‘Amavas’ to release on Dec 14
Mumbai– On the occasion of Halloween on Wednesday, the makers of “Amavas” unveiled the film’s first look and announced that it will release on December 14.
Directed by Bhushan Patel of “1920 Evil Returns”, “Ragini MMS 2” and “Alone” fame, the film stars Sachiin Joshi, Vivan Bhathena, Nargis Fakhri and Navneet Kaur Dhillon along with Mona Singh and Ali Asgar.
Adding to the spirit of Halloween, the poster of “Amavas” is spooky and mysterious.
The film was shot in London for a start-to-finish 40-day schedule.
It is produced by Viiking Media and Entertainment in association with Simply West UK and Weeping Grave.
Parvathy considers herself to be survivor
Mumbai– Actress Paravathy says it took her years to realise that she was assaulted as a child, and that it’s still a daily affair for her to consider herself a survivor.
“It happened to me when I was very young. It took me 17 years to realise it did happen to me. I was three or four years old. I didn’t ask for it. But I was assaulted. And then to speak about it, it took me another 12 years,” Parvathy said at the Jio MAMI 20th Mumbai Film Festival with Star on Tuesday.
“To sit and speak of it as a fact that has happened to me…but not being defined by my gender. So, I sit here as a person first and then rest of the tags come in.
“But you know where the survival part comes… it’s still a struggle for me on a daily basis to realise it, acknowledge it and get past it. It’s a daily affair. And then let my friends know, my parents cope with it. It becomes an extreme exercise on a daily basis.”
She also shared that she was brought up as a pretty confident and outspoken girl. Still she wondered did she ask for it or did she deserve it.
“As a personal experience, I know it’s still a daily affair for me to consider myself a survivor. Survival is not just a physical thing. It’s a constant mental affair. So, I kind of really draw a lot of power from that word,” she said.
