Abhijeet Sawant Calls Recording Ganesh Song With Daughters a ‘Divine Coincidence’

Mumbai — Singer Abhijeet Sawant has released a new devotional song, “Gana Dhaav Re,” for Ganesh Chaturthi and said recording it with his daughters made the project especially meaningful.

Sawant’s daughters, Aahana and Smeera, provided background vocals on the track.

“Having my daughters accompany me on a song for Bappa is Bappa’s divine coincidence. The feeling when I recorded Gana Dhaav Re with Aahana and Smeera was very emotional,” Sawant said.

He added that the song marks the first time all three have worked together on a track.

“This is the first song of the three of us in my musical journey, made especially for Bappa, what could be greater than this! Everyone has a beautiful relationship with Bappa, and that is what the audience will get to experience through this song,” he said.

Sawant rose to prominence after winning the first season of “Indian Idol.” His debut solo album, “Aapka Abhijeet Sawant,” was released in 2005. The same year, he performed the song “Mar Jaawan Mit Jaawan” for the film “Aashiq Banaya Aapne.”

His second album, “Junoon,” was released in 2007, followed by “Farida” in 2013.

Sawant made his acting debut in the 2009 film “Lottery” and later made appearances in “Tees Maar Khan,” “Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai” and “C.I.D.”

Earlier this year, Sawant returned to the “Indian Idol” stage for the show’s Diamond Jubilee special. He reunited with fellow Season 1 finalist Amit Sana, more than two decades after their original appearance on the reality competition. (Source: IANS)
