Roopkumar Rathod Reflects on Spiritual Experience in Varanasi, Calls Each Morning a Rebirth of the Soul

MUMBAI–Indian singer and music composer Roopkumar Rathod has shared reflections on his visit to Varanasi, describing how a trip initially intended for photography became an experience of spiritual discovery and inner peace.
In an Instagram post accompanied by photographs from his visit, Rathod said the ancient city, also known as Banaras or Kashi, offered him a sense of stillness amid the constant movement of everyday life.
“With my camera in hand, I came searching for beautiful frames, but Banaras gifted me something far more precious… a moment of stillness in a world that never stops moving,” Rathod wrote.
The singer also reflected on the city’s spiritual significance, describing its mornings as moments of personal renewal.
“In Kashi, morning does not merely dawn; every morning here marks the rebirth of the soul. Har Har Mahadev!” he added.
Rathod shared several photographs documenting his visit, including an image of himself holding a camera while exploring the city.
Varanasi, situated along the Ganges River in Uttar Pradesh, is one of Hinduism’s most sacred cities and attracts pilgrims, spiritual seekers and visitors from around the world.
The city is particularly known for its temples, riverside ghats and religious ceremonies, which form an important part of its cultural and spiritual identity.
Rathod’s reflections come as the singer has also been sharing personal memories of people who have played important roles in his life.
He recently paid tribute to his late friend, actor Satish Shah, on his death anniversary, remembering his humor, warmth and kindness.
In an emotional Instagram post accompanied by a photograph of the two, Rathod wrote about the memories they shared and the lasting impact of their friendship.
“Remembering my dearest friend Satish Shah on his death anniversary. Dear Satish, your laughter, your warmth, your wonderful sense of humour, and above all, your beautiful heart will always remain with me. Looking at this photograph brings back so many precious moments. How I wish we could share one more conversation, one more laugh, one more moment together. Some people leave this world, but they never leave our hearts. Miss you dearly, my friend. Until we meet again…” he wrote.
On the professional front, Rathod recently contributed vocals to recreated versions of the classic songs “Jaate Hue Lamhon” and “Ghar Kab Aaoge” for the film Border 2, which was released January 23.
Known for his work in Indian film music, Rathod has maintained a career spanning playback singing, music composition and performances.
His latest social media post offered a more personal glimpse into his life, highlighting the sense of peace and spiritual connection he experienced during his time in Varanasi. (Source: IANS)
