Diljit Dosanjh Celebrates Historic Wembley Stadium Concert
Mumbai — Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh celebrated a milestone performance at London’s Wembley Stadium, describing the experience as watching a dream unfold before his eyes.
Sharing a video from the concert on Instagram, Dosanjh said a new chapter had been written in history and credited God for making the moment possible.
“Yesterday, a new chapter was written in history. And the person who made it happen was none other than God,” he wrote, adding that he felt he was simply witnessing a dream come true from the stage.
The video shows Dosanjh opening the concert with the line, “Punjabi Aa Gaye Wembley Oye,” as he addressed the packed stadium.
The performance lasted more than two hours and included popular songs such as “GOAT,” “Lover,” “Hass Hass” and “Born to Shine.” Dosanjh closed the concert with “Main Hoon Punjabi,” followed by a fireworks display.
During the Wembley show, Dosanjh also announced an upcoming concert in Ahmedabad. He described Narendra Modi Stadium as India’s largest stadium and referenced Coldplay’s performance at the venue.
Dosanjh became the first Punjabi artist to perform at Wembley Stadium, according to reports. The concert reportedly drew nearly 92,000 fans.
Reports said the attendance exceeded the crowds associated with some of Wembley’s most notable past concerts, including Michael Jackson’s 1988 performance and Queen’s 1986 show, both of which reportedly attracted about 75,000 people. (Source: IANS)
