Infosys Quarterly Profit Falls 8.6% as Revenue Rises

Mumbai–Infosys reported consolidated net profit of 77.75 billion rupees for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, down 8.6% from 85.09 billion rupees in the previous quarter.

Profit rose 12.3% from 69.21 billion rupees in the same period a year earlier, according to a regulatory filing Thursday.

Revenue from operations increased 14% year over year to 482.11 billion rupees during the April-June quarter, compared with 422.79 billion rupees a year earlier. Revenue was also up 3.9% from 464.02 billion rupees in the January-March quarter.

Total expenses climbed to 381.57 billion rupees from 335.81 billion rupees in the year-ago period.

The company released its results after the market closed. Infosys shares ended at 1,052.90 rupees on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.08%.

Infosys also announced a leadership transition, with its board appointing Ashiss Kumar Dash as CEO Designate.

Chairman Nandan Nilekani described Dash as an internal leader capable of driving transformation while preserving the company’s values and maintaining customer trust.

Nilekani also thanked Managing Director and CEO Salil Parekh for his leadership over the past nine years, saying he had strengthened Infosys’ market position, expanded its capabilities and helped develop the company’s artificial intelligence strategy.

“Salil has been instrumental in the turnaround of the company, establishing its leadership in the digital era, and for laying the foundation for a strong and differentiated AI strategy,” Nilekani said.

Parekh said it had been an honor to lead Infosys during a period in which the company doubled its annual revenue from $10 billion to more than $20 billion.

“We have established Infosys as a leader in digital transformation and have put in place a distinctive strategy for AI transformation,” Parekh said. (Source: IANS)
