BOSTON–The Triveni School of Dance will host its 30th annual professional benefit show of “Devi” on April 7-8 at Boston University Dance Theater in Boston. All proceeds will go to Pratham, an organization committed to improving children’s education in India.

The show will start at 8:00 PM on April 7 and at 3:00 PM on April 8th at the BU Dance Theater. For tickets and more information, please visit www.trivenidance.org or call 617-232-5485.

Audiences have called Triveni’s performances “stunning”, “expressive and deeply emotional!”  This year’s show is called Devi: The Goddess. Devi fuses percussive footwork, sensual movement, and nuanced storytelling.

Out of the quiet, dark winter and as spring awakens, witness Hindu goddesses come to life in the Triveni Ensemble’s “Devi”, featuring Bhairavi, the fierce warrior, Saraswati, patron of knowledge and the arts, Lakshmi, bestower of fortune, and Parvati, the embodiment of love and devotion.

Neena Gulati and the Triveni Ensemble are back to present a spellbinding performance that showcases three Indian classical dance styles with brand new choreography, set to both modern and traditional music.
