Mumbai – It’s a proud and emotional day for actress Sara Ali Khan—and her mother, former actress Amrita Singh—as two major milestones in the family hit the screen on the same day.
While Sara’s latest film Metro… In Dino releases theatrically today, the trailer of her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan’s much-anticipated debut film Sarzameen has also been unveiled, making it a double celebration for the star family.
Taking to Instagram to share the trailer, Sara wrote with excitement:
“Today is Mommy’s Day! Meri movie and bhai jaan’s trailer… And if I can say so myself, both are [fire emojis]! Go to the theatre now! And mark your calendar for the 25th of July!”
The gripping trailer of Sarzameen introduces Prithviraj Sukumaran as Vijay Menon, a man caught between the call of duty as a soldier and his role as a father. Kajol stars as Meher, a determined mother striving to keep her family intact, while Ibrahim plays Harman, a conflicted young man standing at the intersection of identity, duty, and desire.
Opening up about his experience, Ibrahim said:
“Sarzameen is an emotional milestone I’ll carry forever. It challenged me in ways I never imagined—not just as an actor, but as a person. My character is torn between love, loyalty, and truth, and exploring that emotional spectrum was the most intense learning curve.”
On working with seasoned actors like Kajol and Prithviraj, he added:
“Watching Kajol Ma’am and Prithviraj Sir was like attending the best masterclass. They’re so graceful and effortless in their craft—it pushed me to give it everything I had. Director Kayoze [Irani] pushed me too, always in the right ways. He demanded honesty, vulnerability, and depth. I’ve poured my heart into this film. I truly hope the audience feels what we’ve tried to create. Stories like Sarzameen are meant to be felt by everyone, everywhere.”
Directed by Kayoze Irani in his feature film debut, Sarzameen is set to premiere on JioCinema (correct platform if known) or JioHotstar (as per original) on July 25, 2025.
Speaking about the film, Irani shared:
“Sarzameen is my first feature and I’m incredibly proud of it. The story started as a whisper and became a roar I couldn’t ignore. It’s a deeply emotional film about love, identity, and finding your place in a complicated world. Directing Kajol Ma’am, Prithviraj Sir, and Ibrahim was surreal—they brought raw emotion and real vulnerability to their characters, which truly made the story come alive.”
With a powerful ensemble cast, a debutant brimming with promise, and a heartfelt story, Sarzameen is already creating waves. (Soure: IANS)
