Ranveer Singh Responds After FWICE Boycott, Says He Respects Film Fraternity

MUMBAI — Ranveer Singh has issued an official statement after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees announced a non-cooperation directive against him, saying he holds the film fraternity in the highest regard.
The federation said it issued the directive after sending several notices to the actor over his reported exit from “Don 3.”
In a statement released by his official spokesperson, Singh said he had chosen to remain silent because he believed professional matters should be handled with dignity and respect.
“Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect,” the spokesperson said.
The statement said Singh did not want to respond publicly to speculation surrounding the issue.
“While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead. He continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for all those involved and sincerely wishes the franchise continued success. Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these has always been a conscious decision on his part, and he will continue to maintain the same stance,” the spokesperson said.
The dispute follows a complaint by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani to FWICE, claiming they suffered a loss of about Rs 45 crore in pre-production costs after Singh allegedly exited “Don 3” at the last minute.
According to the federation, Singh responded to its communications by saying FWICE was not the appropriate forum for the complainants to raise their grievances. He also said the issues were contractual in nature and would need to be addressed before the appropriate legal forum.
FWICE said it had decided to issue a non-cooperation directive against the actor because of his conduct toward the federation and stakeholders linked to the project.
“Considering the conduct displayed towards the Federation and the stakeholders associated with the project, the office bearers of FWTCE have resolved to issue a Non-Cooperation Directive (NCD) against Mr. Ranveer Singh,” the federation said.
The federation said it remained open to meeting with Singh to hear his side and work toward a final resolution.
“FWICE remains open to Meeting with Mr. Ranveer Singh to hear his side of the matter and to take the issue forward towards arriving at an amicable and final resolution in the interest of both parties,” it said. (Source: IANS)
