Ekal Vidyalaya New Hampshire to Hold Inaugural Fundraiser Sunday, Marking Two Milestones
Nashua event will combine Bollywood music and culture with a fundraiser supporting education in underserved communities

NASHUA, N.H. — The newly established Ekal Vidyalaya New Hampshire chapter will hold its inaugural fundraiser Sunday, bringing together music, culture and community support while marking two milestones for the organization and its supporters.
The event, “Assi Nabbe Poore Sau,” will take place from 2 to 5:30 p.m. at Nashua High School North. The afternoon will feature Bollywood music, shopping, complimentary refreshments and live entertainment, with proceeds supporting Ekal Vidyalaya’s mission of expanding educational opportunities for children in underserved communities.
The event’s name — meaning “eighty, ninety, a full hundred” — reflects a second milestone being celebrated during the afternoon: the 100th live performance of New England Bollywood band Din Check.
For the New Hampshire chapter, however, the fundraiser represents a milestone of its own. It is the first major community event organized by the newly established chapter as it begins building a local presence around Ekal Vidyalaya’s education-focused mission.
Ekal Vidyalaya’s model centers on one-teacher schools serving children in remote and underserved communities. Over the years, its work has expanded beyond education to include healthcare awareness, women’s empowerment, sustainable development and livelihood initiatives.
“It’s wonderful to see Ekal NH take shape with such energy and commitment. I look forward to seeing this chapter grow and make a meaningful impact,” said Parveen Minocha, regional president of Ekal Vidyalaya.
For Aarti Khurana, president of the Ekal Vidyalaya New Hampshire chapter, the event represents the culmination of months of work to establish the organization locally.
“Starting a new chapter is always a little daunting, but seeing this idea take shape with the support of so many people has been incredibly gratifying,” Khurana said. “Having Din Check come alongside us and make their 100th show as part of our very first fundraiser makes it all the more special. I’m excited for what lies ahead.”
Din Check Marks 100 Performances
The fundraiser will also mark the 100th live performance of Din Check, a Bollywood band that began as a group of friends making music and has grown into a performing group with appearances at festivals, cultural celebrations and charitable events across New England and beyond.

The band features Jolly Bhatia, Sameer Bhambhani, Meenakshi Kulshreshtha, Anandini Sekhar, Kamal Dasu and Mike Grover.
Known for energetic performances and Bollywood mashups, Din Check will bring its milestone performance to an event focused on education and community giving.
The 100th performance gives the event its distinctive name and creates a connection between the band’s milestone and the launch of the New Hampshire Ekal chapter.
Sponsors Support First Fundraiser
The inaugural fundraiser has also received support from several local sponsors.
Poppy’s Paintings by Poppy Charnalia is the event’s Gold Sponsor. Dr. Tej Dhakar, professor at Southern New Hampshire University, is the Silver Sponsor, while Padma Sonti Homes by Padma Sonti is the Bronze Sponsor.
For the New Hampshire chapter, the early support is significant as it begins establishing relationships within the local community.
“To have people step forward and believe in what we’re building from the very beginning means a great deal to us,” said Manisha Jain, executive director of Ekal Vidyalaya USA.
Three Milestones in One Afternoon
Sunday’s event will bring together three milestones at different stages of Ekal’s and the community’s journey.
Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation USA is marking its 25th anniversary. Din Check is celebrating its 100th live performance, while Ekal Vidyalaya New Hampshire is holding its first fundraiser.
Organizers say the three milestones reflect different aspects of the same broader effort: sustaining an organization, celebrating a community’s cultural connections and establishing a new local chapter.
For Ekal NH, the fundraiser is intended to serve as an introduction to the organization and its work while giving community members an opportunity to gather around a cause focused on education and opportunity.
The afternoon will include live Bollywood music, cultural programming, shopping and refreshments, with families and community members invited to attend.
