ANDOVER, MA—Neeharika Munjal, an 11th grader at Andover High School, got first place and won the gold medal in her category at DECA’s regional marketing competition this month. About 400 students from 14 Massachusetts high schools participated in the competition.

With nearly a 70-year history, DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals since it was founded in 1946.

This competition’s evaluation process involves students in both a written component and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge.

Munjal this year also made to the prestigious list of 20 Under 20, which is compiled annually by INDIA New England News. In August, she was invited by the US Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, to give a talk on “Youth of USA presents Life: Past, Present and Future to the Youth of Kenya in Africa”.
