ACTON, MA–Color of India will host the “Kaleidoscope of Indian Art”, a traditional Madhubani/Mithila folk art exhibit by 15 local artists on Sunday, June 9, in Acton, MA.
The exhibit features Mithila/Madhubani art, an ancient folk art that originates from North India. In the past, this art form was practiced mainly by women as a way to support their families, and knowledge was passed on from mother to daughter over the generations.
Madhubani art is known for its vivid colors, intricate details, and the scenes it shows of Indian mythology, festivals, celebrations and daily life.

Exhibit: June-August on weekdays from 9am-5pm

The exhibit features the art of various artists of all age groups as well as special dance performances on the day of reception. Audience can directly interact with the artists during the reception.
In addition, there will be a performance of poetry, dance and mime by Odissi dancer Mouli Pal and visual artist Sunnda Sahay during the reception. Additional performances include by Aangikam School of Dance, Tarana School of Dance and Spandha School of Dance.
