Kiara had a no make-up policy for director Sandeep Vanga’s upcoming film “Kabir Singh”, in which she essays the role of a simple college girl named Preeti.

“I’m a directors’ actor, so if the director has a certain vision for the character’s look then I go with that,” Kiara said in a statement.

“Preeti’s simplicity and innocence is what makes Kabir fall head over heels for her. Sandeep Sir wanted to capture that purity and also make me look like a 19-year-old first year student.

“I’m comfortable being in front of the camera without any make-up, so it felt effortless and the plus point of not having to reach extra early on set for hair and make-up was another plus,” she added.

Actor Shahid Kapoor will be seen as Dr. Kabir Rajveer Singh in the film, which is a remake of the popular Telugu movie “Arjun Reddy” that originally starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde, it is set to release on June 21. The remake is written and directed by Vanga.

“Gully boys dancing like Peshwas! World class performers making India proud, unbeatable,” Ranveer tweeted on Monday.

Along with the tweet, he shared a link of the video in which the group is seen performing to “Malhaari” song from Ranveer-starrer “Bajirao Mastani”.

The troupe comprises 28 members aged 12-27 years. They chanted ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ in unison before starting their sequence, which included jaw-dropping flips and electrifying dance moves.

Before their performance, the dance group was asked what it was like to stay in Mumbai. One member said: “Life in Mumbai is very hard… the life in slums.”

“Many members of our group live in slums. The slums are crowded, dirty and they don’t get proper electricity. Often 7-10 people stay in one room. It’s challenging to survive there. Each day we pray for a better life, but in slums there is very little opportunity for us.”

Dance gives them an opportunity to forget their surrounding.

“For the past two weeks, we have not been able to sleep. This opportunity could change our lives. Everyone wants to succeed and give back to their families. We used to watch ‘America’s Got Talent’ on YouTube.

“We were like ‘can we go here someday?’ We were just dreaming about it and today we are here. It’s our dream come true,” said a member.

Announcing the new release date of “Jabariya Jodi”, producer Ekta Kapoor took to Instagram and wrote: “Zabardasti release date change karwaya (was forced to change the release date). I did not want release between two eclipses. So when too many releases came on that day, we moved to August 2. See you at theatres.”

Sidharth also shared the new release date. “The surprise wedding of the year set to arrive on August 2,” he tweeted.

Directed by Prashant Singh, “Jabariya Jodi” is based on ‘Pakadwa Vivah’ (forced marriage), which was once rampant in Bihar.

The actor believes in managing the balance between mind and body and always challenges himself to do something different in his fitness routines. He was given the ‘Fittest Man Of The Year’ award at Urbane Awards 2019, here on June Saturday.
