Mr. Dixit immigrated to America 57 years ago with his wife, Anusuya, and their family to establish Sona in Harvard Square, a venture that marked the beginning of his life and career in the United States. Over the years, he pursued several successful professional paths before entering retirement.

In retirement, Mr. Dixit devoted himself to spiritual service, becoming a Hindu priest and officiating numerous religious ceremonies for families in the community and beyond. Among the many milestones in his priesthood was officiating a wedding ceremony at Machu Picchu.

Family members described his greatest passion as his devotion to his wife of more than 70 years and to their extended family. He was a father, grandfather and great-grandfather to three children and their spouses, eight grandchildren and their spouses, and six great-grandchildren. Relatives said he was also regarded by many outside his immediate family as a mentor, father figure and spiritual guide.
