New Delhi– In a major diplomatic offensive, the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is sending multi-party delegations of Members of Parliament (MPs) to key global capitals to expose Pakistan’s involvement in the brutal April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and rally international support against cross-border terrorism.

According to sources, at least six delegations—each comprising five MPs—will be formed. These teams will travel to various countries between May 22 and June 1, presenting evidence of Pakistan’s role in the attack and detailing India’s subsequent ‘Operation Sindoor’ to foreign governments and international institutions.

The delegations will include prominent figures from both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and opposition parties. Notable leaders heading these teams include Shrikant Shinde (MP from Kalyan), DMK’s Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, NCP Working President Supriya Sule, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, and JD(U)’s Sanjay Jha. Their destinations include the United States, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, South Africa, and Egypt.

Other participating MPs are expected to include Anurag Thakur, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Tejasvi Surya (BJP), Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu (TDP), Manish Tewari (Congress), and AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi.

Sources indicate that this unprecedented diplomatic outreach comes amid Pakistan’s renewed efforts to internationalize the Kashmir issue—efforts that have been echoed, in part, by remarks from former U.S. President Donald Trump. India maintains that Kashmir is a strictly bilateral matter.

This initiative marks the first time the Modi administration has deployed elected representatives from across party lines as diplomatic envoys to counter Pakistan’s global narrative.

The delegations have two key objectives: to brief foreign governments on the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives, and to clarify that ‘Operation Sindoor’ targeted only terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied regions—explicitly avoiding civilian areas.

“The goal is to dismantle the false narrative being pushed by Pakistan and its allies,” said a senior official involved in organizing the initiative.

The Ministry of External Affairs, working closely with intelligence and defense agencies, is preparing comprehensive dossiers and detailed talking points for the MPs. Indian embassies in the host countries will support the delegations by facilitating meetings and offering on-ground logistical support.

The lawmakers will highlight how Pakistan has long used terrorism as a state policy to destabilize India, citing intelligence reports on training camps, recruitment pipelines, and documented ISI involvement.

They will also point to Pakistan’s retaliatory measures following Operation Sindoor as further proof of its active support and sheltering of terrorist groups.

This global diplomatic campaign aims not only to isolate Pakistan on the world stage but also to bolster India’s standing ahead of crucial international forums and high-level bilateral engagements. (Source: IANS)
