BOSTON—Elegance & style displayed throughout at Taj Boston ballrooms on Sunday as hundreds of people attended INDIA New England News’ 8th annual bridal expo and Diwali mela throughout the day. The main highlight of the event was Dreamcatchers Fashion Show based on a show with the same name conceptualized by Dr, Manju Sheth. The show highlighted people who have fulfilled their dreams.
“It was a wonderful experience to showcase the dreamers of our community in our first theme-based fashion show called Dreamcatchers,” said Dr. Sheth, president of INE MultiMedia, which produced the show. “We are very touched with the overwhelming response and multiple requests to make the Dreamcatchers Fashion Show an annual event and a Diwali tradition to showcase the dreamers of the year. We are going to look into it.”
It was probably the nation’s first fashion show themed after dreamcatchers. The team behind dreamcatchers fashion show, which was presented by INE MultiMedia, included Ruchika Arora, choreographer, fashion designer and state director for Miss India USA pageant; Vidhi Dalia, owner and make-up artist at Flawless Creations by Vidhi; and Ambika Mangtani, owner, IndofashionZ by Ambika Mangtani.
The day-long expo was packed with entertainment and shopping. Hostess of the evening was Dr. Sheth. Emcees were Shirin Bakre and Shaleen Sheth.
Academy of Creative Arts presented two performances– Sun Sathiya and Bajrangbali. Janani Sharma, who was recently featured on ZeeTV for the very first SaReGaMaPa Lil’Champs North America — a reality show that is known for its’ highest Target Rating Point all over India, sang Diwali and wedding songs.
Dancing Divas Boston, which is founded by Shikha Bajpai, presented an interactive dance at the mela. Dancing Divas Boston team members Purbi Rana, Priya Balu, Priya Bagade and Bajpai together presented the eternal charm of the “Mehendi” ceremony at Weddings and festive occasions.
Nikita Rao’s Bollywood Dance Academy presented several dances, featuring children. Fall Wedding Expo and Diwali Mela at Taj Boston was organized by Desi Bridal News and INDIA New England News. Sponsors included Taj Boston, Alankar Event Planners and Decorators and Boston Sound & Light Company. The Dreamcatchers fashion show was sponsored by Harvard Pilgrim HealthCare.
