Rohit Shetty, Sunil Grover to co-host awards show
Mumbai– Filmmaker Rohit Shetty and actor-comedian Sunil Grover have been roped in to host the upcoming Zee Cine Awards 2018.
“Apart from direction, I also like hosting shows. This year I will be hosting the prestigious Zee Cine Awards 2018,” Rohit, who is currently being lauded for his hit film “Golmaal Again”, said in a statement.
Sunil, who has previously hosted various award shows, is best known for his various avatars on TV show “Comedy Nights With Kapil”.
Rohit, meanwhile, has directed hit films like “Singham” and “Chennai Express”. This will be the first time when he will be seen hosting an award show.
Zee Cine Awards 2018 will take place here on December 19.
I don’t go to salons: Meera Deosthale
New Delhi– Actress Meera Deosthale says she likes to groom herself at home without being assisted by others at a salon.
She is currently enjoying fans’ love and appreciation for portraying Chakor in “Udann”.
Asked what are the five things that the audience doesn’t know about her, Meera told IANS: “I have learnt Bollywood dancing from choreographer Saroj Khan. I have learnt acting from Roshan Taneja School of Acting. I don’t go to salons. I do my grooming at home by myself.”
“I am a foodie. My favourite is the chocoholic cake from Theobroma. I like to read a lot of books,” she added.
She joined the TV industry in 2014. On her acting journey, she said: “My journey has been wonderful. I have been constantly working since the time I joined the industry. I have never been on a break. As a person, I have grown a lot. As an actor, I have learnt a lot in these three years.”
She is now aiming to do different roles.
Before she joined showbiz, she was a basketball player. So, what pulled her towards acting?
“I played basketball as a hobby. I was pretty much inclined towards the cultural side like dancing, music and drama. One day, I asked my mother if I could get into this industry and then I flew to Mumbai,” said the “Sasural Simar Ka” actress.
My husband doesn’t like my negative roles: Navina
Mumbai– Actress Navina Bole says her husband Karan Jeet doesn’t like it when she plays an evil role.
Navina’s character Tia Kapoor is one of the main antagonists of “Ishqbaaaz”. She creates chaos in the life of the lead couple — Shivaay (Nakuul Mehta) and Annika (Surbhi Chandna) in the show.
“My husband keeps telling me even though he is happy with me resuming work with ‘Ishqbaaaz’, he doesn’t like Tia because of the way she is. She is someone who is up to no good and my husband believes in all good in the hood,” Navina said in a statement.
“Hence, whenever Tia comes on screen, he often wonders how I am good in real life and evil on screen. That apart, he loves watching the show,” she added.
“Ishqbaaaz” is aired on Star Plus.
Salman launches Bina Kak’s book, calls it great
Mumbai– Bollywood actor Salman Khan launched photographer Bina Kak’s book “Silent Sentinels Of Ranthambhore” here on Wednesday, terming it a “great book”.
“I think it is a great book because I have seen all the pictures much before they have released. All the pictures are really nice and beautiful,” he said in a media interaction.
Katrina Kaif, Salim Khan, Helen, Salman Khan, Baba Siddique, Priya Dutt and many more also attended the book launch.
Salman also said that every time, his movie is nearing release, Kak comes out with a book.
“I don’t understand whether we are here promoting ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ or her book.
“It had happened earlier, I was doing ‘Sultan’ with Ali Abbas Zafar, we were planning on going to Ranthambhore, at that time Bina issued a book on a tiger named Sultan, but the plan didn’t work out. Now ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ is coming and her book is also releasing at the same time,” he said.
Salman also shared yet another funny story concerning Kak.
“Every time Bina Kak visits a jungle, my life turns into a mess. She sends me 50 photographs every day. So I am like this is good, incredible, I would send her long messages but, in time, it went from ‘very nice’ to ‘nice’ and then ‘hmm’ and eventually I would send her only ‘K’,” he added.
Salman Khan will be next seen in “Tiger Zinda Hai” opposite Katrina. The film, helmed by Zafar, releases on December 22.
Saif keen to pen comedy, horror or political satire
Mumbai, Dec 13 (IANS) Actor Saif Ali Khan, whose sister Soha Ali Khan has debuted as an author, says he would like to write something in the comedy, horror or political satire space.
At the launch of Soha’s book “The perils of Being Moderately Famous” here on Tuesday, Saif was asked about the kind of book he wants to write if he plans to.
He said: “I would like to write ghost stories (laughs)… I mean chilling tales about life in the movie industry or a political satire or a comedy. So, comedy, horror or a political satire… I am not sure of that. My mother once did want to write a book on me and the title was going to be ‘Oh Saif’ (laughs).”
On Soha’s book, the proud brother said he found it “really funny and well-written with a great sense of humour”.
Sharing funny anecdotes about Soha Ali Khan’s early days when she was living with Saif Ali Khan in UK Saif said: “Soha went to two wonderful universities. She went to Oxford and London School of Economics. After that, she was working with Citibank and all settled with that. And then she came to stay with me for a summer and quit her job and joined movies.
“I am not sure how my parents felt about that, but she of course had her mother’s genes as well and was drawn to this profession.” (IANS)
