Katrina Kaif introduces her new ‘gang’ from the set of ‘Phone Bhoot’
Mumbai– Actress Katrina Kaif has started shooting for her upcoming horror comedy Phone Bhoot and, going by pictures she posted on Thursday, she has found a new gang to get join thanks to co-stars Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
Katrina shared a couple of pictures from the set where she features with Siddhant and Ishaan. The trio are captured enjoying a lake-side view at Udaipur, where the film is being currently shot.
The actress described the Phone Bhoot gang with emoticons of a phone and a ghost, and the word “gang” added to it.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the film is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
The actress was last seen in 2019 film Bharat alongside Salman Khan. Last year, she made a cameo appearance in the Irrfan Khan-starrer Angrezi Medium.
Besides Phone Bhoot, Katrina has the cop action drama Sooryavanshi coming up. The Rohit Shetty directorial stars Akshay Kumar.
Srishti Jain: One shouldn’t allow social media to overpower us
Mumbai– Television star Srishti Jain feels social media has helped celebrities connect with their fans like never before, but we should not let the medium overpower us.
Srishti has garnered a substantial fan base playing Navya in the show “Hamariwali Good News”. Dhr also won accolades for her role in the show “Meri Durga”.
“From fans being able to connect with us to sharing pictures and videos so they can get a peek into our lives and thoughts, to making small businesses flourish and create an amazing platform for content creators, social media has done it all. It has become a part of our existence, we post and share and browse and that’s it. One shouldn’t allow it to overpower us,” Srishti tells IANS.
She acknowledges social media also comes with a bag full of responsibilities.
“It is important for people to recognise that actors are human beings too, and we have the right to express ourselves without being pressured for being idols. At the same time it is true that when you’re a public figure people want to follow you, so it’s our responsibility to be careful. Not everything needs to be put out there anyways,” she says.
The actress also spoke about the numbers game on social media. “I honestly don’t want a part in this competition. I’m happy that there are people out there who shower love on me and watch my work. People who love you will stay, others come and go. It’s great to have a huge fan base, every actor wants that, but at the same time to compete and compare isn’t that healthy,” he said.
Srishti, who follows Kusha Kapila and Mostly Sane (Prajakta Koli) on social media, said she is more of a meme and quote person.
Parineeti Chopra tapped into ‘traumatic memories’ for ‘The Girl On The Train’
Mumbai– Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra has opened up about how she had to confront painful life experiences to deliver the role in her forthcoming film, The Girl On The Train. She had to tap into her innermost traumatic memories to bring the character to life.
“I have given my blood, sweat and tears, and tapped into the innermost traumatic memories of my life to bring this character to life. I don’t remember how many times I broke down on the sets because I was harnessing memories that I have purposely buried deep inside my mind and heart,” Parineeti said.
She admits she never otherwise intended to confront these painful chapters of her life.
“I never wanted to see those incidents and issues again but I had to, for this film. After reading the insanely brilliant script, I realised that to be able to pull off this character, I would have to reach deep within the crevices of my buried past and confront a lot of pain of my personal life, to show this girl’s character and journey effectively and authentically on screen,” said Parineeti.
The eponymous book was made into a Hollywood film starring Emily Blunt in the lead in 2016.
In the Hindi remake, Parineeti plays a girl named Mira, an alcoholic divorcee, who becomes involved in a missing person investigation and uncovers deeper secrets.
“This film has taken me to hell and back because it was not easy to constantly think about my past and constantly keep me on edge all the time before doing a shot that was so intensely charged, both physically and emotionally. It broke me several times,” Parineeti said.
The actress is happy with the outcome: “All the tears I wept, all the long hours of introspection I did, seems to have paid off because people have loved whatever they have seen of my performance. I can’t wait to show them the film and see their .”
The film directed by Ribhu Dasgupta premieres on February 26 on Netflix.
Ashish Chowdhry to make biopic of India’s ‘Tiger Man’ Billy Arjan Singh
Mumbai– Actor Ashish Chowdhry has acquired the rights to hunter-turned-conservationist Billy Arjan Singh’s biography, and will adapt it into a film.
The book, “Honorary Tiger: The Life Of Billy Arjan Singh”, is a biography by Duff Hart-Davis, and traces the life of India’s ‘Tiger Man’ Billy Arjan Singh, who is credited for reintroducing tigers and leopards from captivity into the wild.
Ashish Chowdhry has acquired rights through his joint venture Hindustan Talkies, which he owns with Deepa Pardasany.
“Mr Billy Arjan Singh’s story would make one of the most delightful experiences the audience could have on screen. It’s going to be exciting,” Ashish said.
“Being part of the same family and having heard the story of Billy Arjan Singh in my childhood , ‘Billy’ left a lasting impression on my mind. The book is a beautifully crafted narrative of Billy Arjan singh’s life by Duff Hart-Davis. I am looking forward to seeing the written word translate wonderfully on screen,” said Pardasany.
