“Somewhere down the line, we underestimate our kids. As they are born in this world so they know this world much better than us in a lot of ways. Today, our main duty is to disseminate the information in the right way,” Kajol said here on Tuesday during the promotion of her film.

She feels that the modern-age parents need to discuss morality, ethics, compassion, dignity with children.

“Our kids should be able to come up and ask us all kinds of questions,” said Kajol, who claims to be a mix of an overprotective and a cool mother in real life.

Sharing her view on the ongoing #MeToo movement in India, the actress said: “The most important thing about #MeToo is by taking away the shame and embarrassment associated with owning such incidents, the younger people or anybody who feel that they come into opposition like this, are able to have the guts and draw that line and say no more after this.”

#MeToo movement gaining momentum is good sign: Aishwarya

Mumbai– Celebrated actress and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looks at the #MeToo movement gaining momentum as a positive sign and she believes that talking on women empowerment should be a continuous process.

“I think it is a good sign how the #MeToo movement is gaining momentum. However, I would refrain to comment on any specific case as that would be irresponsible on our part. At least some of these cases would become sub judice soon. So, I don’t think it would be proper to talk about any particular incident,” Aishwarya told the media on Tuesday.

The actress was present along with designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee for the launch of the new makeup line festival collection named “L’Oreal Paris X Sabyasachi Calcutta” for the special media interaction.

Referring to the cosmetic brand L’Oreal, she said: “We started the ‘We Worth It’ award and I became the poster girl of that. I came on board because we are speaking for women, giving them a platform for appreciation of their efforts by a wider audience.”

“It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Sapna and I have known each other since 2014. We were in the same agency together and we had always wanted to work together. Shweta and Mallika were new to me and I really need to give Sapna credit for bringing me into the group. The girls never let me feel as if I was new to the story or to them,” Amyra told IANS.

She did not feel left out.

“We came into this project on professional terms and left it becoming really good friends. Each girl brings something unique to the table. Mallika brings the slapstick comedy, Sapna brings the motivation, Shweta is the glue that holds us together and apparently I’m the entertainment,” Amyra quipped.

The fact that they were “in sync” helped.

“Everything would always just fall into place,” she said.

“Trip 2” premiered on all bindass platforms including YouTube on October 5.

Mahesh Bhatt devastated by Vinta Nanda’s #MeToo story

New Delhi– Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt wonders why veteran writer-producer and his friend Vinta Nanda didn’t confide in him about getting sexually violated by actor Alok Nath, known for his “sanskaari” on-screen image.

Mahesh Bhatt

Nanda, writer-producer of the ahead-of-its-time 1990s’ show “Tara”, has accused Alok of sexually violating her almost two decades ago. She shared her experience through a long, heart-wrenching Facebook post.

Asked for his reaction, Bhatt told IANS: “She is a friend. I am quite devastated… We have sat down and she has spoken about her personal issues, financial issues and her relationship problems and never brought this out. What was it that was keeping her (from talking about it)?”

“By saying ‘Why are you saying it now?’ I am not doubting her. I am saying, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’. When Mallika Sherawat said somewhere that she was being solicited by men when she was working, I said ‘Why didn’t you tell me. You should come and tell me everything about what’s happening’.

“I am just curious. I am not saying that you are (Nanda is) lying,” added Bhatt, who was here to promote his forthcoming film “Jalebi”.

Nanda recounted the experience, sharing that Alok raped her after she left a party at his house at 2 a.m. She says her drinks were mixed and she was sexually violated.

Bhatt’s wife Soni Razdan tweeted: “Oh Vinta Nanda, so sorry you had to deal with this all alone so many years ago. Can anything be done? What is unacceptable is the fact that the channel did nothing to protect the girl in question amounting to the most abject callousness on its part. Things really need to change.

“And I wish you would file an FIR as well.” (IANS)
