When Jackie Shroff slapped Anil Kapoor 17 times
Mumbai– Actor Anil Kapoor took 17 slaps from his co-star Jackie Shroff while shooting for the 1989 film “Parinda”.
In the upcoming episode of “BFFs with Vogue” on Colors Infinity, Jackie was asked to share his experience about working with Anil, read a statement.
Talking about a scene, Jackie said that regardless of the shot being approved by the film’s director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Anil kept asking for retakes as he wanted to make sure everything was perfect.
Jackie said: “I gave him 17 slaps but didn’t give it so hard that he would fall.”
The actors have also featured together in films like “Ram Lakhan”, “1942: A Love Story” and “Kabhi Na Kabhi”.
I’m very particular about my hair: Vidya Balan
Mumbai– Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, known for her luscious hair, says she takes extra care — especially on festivals like Holi — of her mane.

Fondest childhood memory of Holi: Even before the main day, all the kids in my neighbourhood would start throwing balloons at each other after school. The night before Holi, my father would painstakingly fill the balloons so we could run out with buckets full of balloons the next morning.
One Holi treat that makes her mouth water: While most people eat ‘gujiyas’ for Holi, my sister Priya would drive up to Sattu’s in Sindhi Camp (Chembur) and get ‘Imarti’. I grew up eating them every year during Holi and now the festival is incomplete without it. It has become a ritual to gorge on them. When you are fully wet and unrecognisable, it tastes the best.
That go-to Holi hair style: I am very particular about my hair. Before I step out, it needs to look great. Even with oil! I massage oil into my hair, comb it well and then tie it in a loose braid. This way I am able to keep my hair away from my face and just enjoy the festival
Favourite colour: Gulaal! What else? We buy loads and loads of it and play majorly with gulal, but love other colours too.

Stand-up comedian Balraj to pen a book
Mumbai– Stand-up comedian Balraj, who was seen in the show “Entertainment Ki Raat”, will be penning a book on the art of stand-up comedy before it became popular in India.
It will feature journeys of stand-up comedians from across the globe. Balraj will share his struggles in the book, which is expected to launch in mid-2018.
“I haven’t decided a title for the book but yes, it will be an encyclopaedia for both aspiring comedians and current comedians as I believe their journeys will inspire us and will be a great learning experience,” Balraj said in a statement.
“It’s just in the initial stage. I am doing a lot of research work for it,” he added.
‘Bharat’ team scouts for locations in London
London– London is blanketed by snow, but the team of Bollywood film “Bharat” is undeterred in scouting for locations to shoot.
Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar on Thursday tweeted a series of photographs from there.
“Snowed down London from ‘beast from the east’, but work on ‘Bharat’ continues. Some pictures of location scout, 200 year old port,” Zafar captioned the image.
“Bharat” will release on Eid 2019.
The film is an official adaptation of 2014 South Korean film “Ode to My Father”.
Making independent films is a lonely job: Sudhir Mishra
Mumbai– Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, a jury member for an upcoming movie awards, says he finds the younger talent inspiring as the Mumbai movie industry can be lonely for a person dabbling in independent films.
Mishra is on the jury of News18.com’s REEL Movie Awards with Farah Khan, Sujoy Ghosh, Sudhir Mishra and Nikkhil Advani. The awards, which will celebrate and honour the artistes who have enthralled the audiences with their outstanding creativity through excellent storytelling, will be held here on March 20.
“I wanted to be a part of this jury because the younger lot inspires me, I feel less lonely, otherwise the idea of making independent films is a lonely job if you look at the Mumbai film industry,” Mishra said in a statement.
“I’ve been around 30 years, trying to do what I want and it’s great that now the other are also joining in as well. Age is a superfluous factor in a director’s life and there’s always so much to learn and get inspired from all the time,” added the filmmaker, who is awaiting the release of “Daas Dev”.
The REEL Movie Awards will also have a curated panel discussion on future of content consumption and new age cinema, which will witness participation of dignitaries from popular OTT platforms. There will also be a performance by celebrated stand-up comedians.
Abhishek starts ‘Manmarziyan’ shoot
Mumbai– Actor Abhishek Bachchan has started shooting for his upcoming film “Manmarziyan”, directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Abhishek on Thursday took to Twitter and shared a photograph of the script.
“Almost time… ‘Manmarziyan’,” Abhishek captioned the image.
The film, directed by Kashyap and presented by Aanand L. Rai, also stars Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu.
Taapsee in an interview to IANS had said the film “is a beautiful mix of the different worlds of filmmakers Aanand L. Rai and Anurag Kashyap”.
This will be the first time that Abhishek will be collaborating with Taapsee and Vicky for a project.
‘Hawayein’ music producer turns composer
Mumbai– Sourav Roy, who has produced music for songs like “Hawayein”, “London thumakda” and “Zaalima”, has turned music composer.
He has composed two signature tracks for Colors’ new Tamil channel. He has also composed a few tracks for southern films, which will be out soon.
“Whether it’s as a music producer, record producer or as a composer, I love being associated with music. Composing a track gives me creative satisfaction and when your work is being loved and appreciated, all the work is worth it,” Roy, who has worked with composers like Pritam, Vishal-Shekhar and Amit Trivedi, said in a statement.
Roy had scored background score for Riteish Deshmukh-starrer “Banjo”. He is currently busy with producing music for the biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt and “Race 3”.
I’m well, have no heart ailment: Rajkumar Santoshi
Mumbai– Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi on Thursday said he is well and has no heart ailment, contrary to media reports. His is, however, admitted to a hospital here for routine tests.
“I am well and have no heart ailment. I had gone to Nanavati Hospital for a routine check up. Thank you for your concern. I value it,” Santoshi said in a statement.
Santoshi was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday evening, and he will be under observation till Saturday morning. He is there for routine tests, his spokesperson told IANS.
The filmmaker is well-known for helming films like “Ghayal”, “Damini”, “Andaz Apna Apna”, “Ghatak”, “Pukar”, “The Legend of Bhagat Singh” and “Phata Poster Nikhla Hero”. (IANS)
