Esha Gupta wanted to be pilot
Mumbai– Actress Esha Gupta had dreamt of becoming a chef wanted to be a pilot, says her sister Neha.
Esha was joined by her sister Neha Gupta in the dance reality show “High Fever…Dance Ka Naya Tevar” where they revealed each other’s secrets, a statement said.
“We share a total love-hate relationship and I fight with her pretty often. I have always been compared with Neha didi as she has always been typically lady like, whereas I used to be a complete tomboy and also quite ugly as a kid if I may add,” Esha said.
Her sister shared that Esha enjoys creating drama and chaos in the house.
“Apart from that, she is an amazing cook. She dreamt of being a chef which later switched to being a pilot. It took us a while for the fact to sink in that Esha has become an actress,” said Neha about the “Jannat 2” actress.
Manoj Chandila to play antagonist in ‘Dil Hi Toh Hai’
Mumbai– Actor Manoj Chandila will play an antagonist who will create “chaotic drama” in Ekta Kapoor’s show “Dil Hi Toh Hai”.
In the upcoming episodes, the audience will see Ritwik’s (actor Karan Kundra) friend Rohit (Krishna Shetty) and Palak’s (Yogita Bihani) friend Setu (Asmita Sood) getting engaged.
The celebrations will be interrupted with the entry of a new character played by Manoj. His character Kabir will claim to be Setu’s former husband.
“I am also friends with Ritwik and Rohit. He is a dishonest person. With Kabir’s entry in the show, it will be a chaotic drama as he will be one of the core reasons why Rohit and Setu’s engagement will break,” Manoj said in a statement.
Can’t do one-dimensional characters: Shikha Talsania
Mumbai– Actress Shikha Talsania, who has received rave reviews for her performance in the film “Veere Di Wedding”, says she cannot do one-dimensional characters and prefers to have layers in her roles.
Shikha, along with celebrities like Pulkit Samrat and Angira Dhar, opened up in “Open House with Renil” on zoOm.
“I cannot do one-dimensional characters. I cannot play a fat girl who is either just hungry or horny and I want layers to my characters. Give me such a character and I’ll give you a performance. You want me to play a man? Done! I’ll do it,” Shikha said.
Pulkit said he is no exception to struggle.
“I wanted to act since childhood and one day I told my parents that I intended to go to Bombay (Mumbai) to become an actor. After this, my father stopped talking to me for days. I was taken aback as my father was very keen to see me as a Bollywood actor when my mother was expecting me.
“So, when I reminded him of his golden words, he told me he made a mistake. But all’s well that ends well. Now my father is super proud of me and happy with my decision.”
Angira shared a similar experience wherein her then boyfriend stopped talking to her when she told him she wanted to act.
“When I informed my then boyfriend about this, he reacted very strangely and dissuaded me from joining the film industry due to his apprehensions. But I followed my dream and here I am today, very proud of my decision,” Angira said.
Lata Mangeshkar wishes luck to ‘talented’ Anil Kapoor
Mumbai– Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has wished luck to “Fanney Khan” actor Anil Kapoor, whom she finds talented.
Lata on Friday shared a song titled “Achche Din” from the film, which is designed as an ode to Lata Mangeshkar. It is about a teenaged girl named Lata Sharma, aspiring to be a singer like her legendary namesake.
“Namaskar. Anil Kapoorji ek guni abhineta hain. Mere Anilji aur Boneyji ke saath bahut acche aur pariwarik sambandh hai, unke mata aur pitaji se bhi mere acche sambandh the. Main Anilji ki nayi film ko bahut shubhkaamanayein deti hun. (Anil Kapoor is one talented actor. I have a very good relationship with Anil and Boneyji. I had a good bond with their parents too. I send my good wishes to Anil’s new film),” Lata captioned the video.
To this, Anil replied: “Shukriya Lataji. Aapki awaaz hamari prerna hai iss film ke liye. Lata Mangeshkar humari umeed hai ki aapko ‘Fanney Khan’ pasand aaye. (Thank you Lataji. Your voice is the inspiration for the film. Hope you like ‘Fanney Khan’).”
“Fanney Khan” is the Hindi adaptation of the Dutch film “Everybody’s Famous”. It is being co-produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and directed by Atul Manjrekar.
The film also features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Divya Dutta and Rajkummar Rao.
Filmmaking process has developed: Shabana Azmi
Mumbai– Veteran actress Shabana Azmi says the filmmaking process has developed in the country which she considers to be the best thing that has happened to Indian cinema.
Shabana had a candid conversation on 92.7 BIG FM where she spoke about acting workshops, importance of scripts and a host of other engaging topics, read a statement.
“What is good about today’s movies is that there are acting workshops organised with an intent to bring a familiarity between the actors and characters which is essential for any film,” Shabana said.
“This also helps the actors in understanding the director’s vision in a proper way. Today, actors have well-researched scripts in their hand which wasn’t the case with us earlier.
“I always used to feel strange about it, especially working with child actors. The filmmaking process has developed which I feel is the best thing that has happened to the Indian cinema,” added the actress, who has shared screen space with former child actors like Jugal Hansraj, Urmila Matondkar and Shweta Prasad.
On the changes that Bollywood has gone through over the years, she said: “When I listen to today’s music, especially when it comes to their lyrics, I find it absurd. The quality has gone down, unfortunately.”
‘Talk To A Muslim’ a ridiculous campaign, says Anupam Kher
Mumbai– Actor Anupam Kher has condemned the #TalkToAMuslim campaign on social media, calling it “ridiculous”.
Anupam interacted with the media at the completion of the golden jubilee year of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) here on Thursday.
Twitter users have been commenting on a trending hashtag ‘Talk to a Muslim’. Even celebrities like Swara Bhaskar and Gauahar Khan have shared their thoughts on it.
Commenting on the campaign, Anupam said: “I have come from a family who never told me that they are another religion. We have respected all religions and that (#TalkToAMuslim) is a ridiculous campaign.
“I think it was a campaign which presented Muslims as a small entity, which was shameful thing according to me. We shouldn’t hurt anybody’s religious sentiments. Today it has become really easy to run a campaign. Each day some new campaign trends on social media. I think we should set the trend by doing our job efficiently. ‘I am an Indian’ campaign, that should be run in everybody’s blood and life.”
Anupam sang the national anthem with CISF personnel.
“I feel always emotional and proud about people who are in uniforms,” he said, sharing how during his childhood days in Shimla, where there was the headquarter of Western Command, saying “Jai Hind” or singing the Indian national anthem became natural.
“Recently, athlete Hima Das also cried after winning gold medal when our national anthem was playing at the award ceremony. So, it’s obvious that you get goosebumps when you see your national flag, and the national anthem is being played in the background.”
On the film front, Anupam will next be seen in “The Accidental Prime Minister”, which revolves around the life of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
