It’s good to be a young parent: Ayushmann
Mumbai– Actor Ayushmann Khurrana says it is good to have children at a young age.
The “Badhaai Ho” star opened up about his equation with his children when he shot for the chat show “Famously Filmfare Season 2”, read a statement.
Asked how it is to be a hands-on parent, Ayushmann said: “Today, I had to wear glasses because I got up early in the morning for a shoot. It was also her sports day and I was all ready and geared up to win that 100 meter race with fellow parents as I was one of the youngest out there.
“I was really excited, but sadly that didn’t happen. Even though I’ve under-slept today, it is alright. It is good to be a young father, a young parent. You have that energy and you are growing up with them.”
Ayushmann and Tahira share a daughter Varushka and a son Virajveer.
He feels his son is more talented than him when it comes to playing the piano.
“Being a young parent, you can play cricket, football and I can play chess with my son. In fact, he plays the piano better than I do. We got the piano installed because of my film ‘AndhaDhun’. He started learning recently and already has a concert coming up.”
Won’t shy away from any medium if I like story: Himani
Mumbai– Actress Himani Shivpuri features in a new short film “Blossom In Love”. She says medium is no bar for her when it comes to a good story.
The veteran plays the character of an old lady who stays alone and gets attached to a plant in order to overcome her loneliness.
Helmed by actress, scriptwriter and director Swati Semwal, the film highlights that love and support can be found in the most unexpected of places, even in plants.
“It was great working with Swati. What pulled me in was the story. If I like the story, I will not shy away from stepping into any medium,” Himani said in a statement.
The actress, known for her performances in films like “Hum Aapke… Hain Koun” and “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”, praised Swati for being clear and eloquent in her vision.
Regarding the premise of the film, Swati said: “Love is such a vast emotion and I wanted to explore it through the film. Though it was an experimental film as it was around one character, it was a fun challenge.
“Working with Himani Shivpuri made it easier for me to execute my vision.”
“Blossom In Love” released on Thursday on Net Pix Short, the brainchild of First Step Entertainment Capital.
New ‘Super Dancer’ 10 notches better than past seasons: Shilpa Shetty
Mumbai– Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra says talent in the third season of “Super Dancer” is 10 notches higher than the previous two seasons of the dance reality TV shows.
Shilpa interacted with the media at the launch of the third season of “Super Dancer”, along with her co-judges Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapoor here on Wednesday.
On the participants of the third season of “Super Dancer”, Shilpa said: “We were mesmerised when we saw this year’s talent in ‘Super Dancer’. It is unbelievable to see this kind of talent in today’s generation.
“I honestly felt that it will exhaust after the second season of ‘Super Dancer’. We felt that from where we will find superior talent than season two, but I can say that the kind of talent we have in the third season of ‘Super Dancer’ is better than previous two seasons. I feel it is ten notches higher, so you have to just wait and watch for it.”
Women must be included in all conversations: Dia Mirza
Mumbai– Actress-activist Dia Mirza has been forthright in raising her concern about zero representation of women in a meeting held between a delegation representing Indian cinema and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She says gender equality can only be achieved if women must be part of all conversations.
“This is wonderful! Is there a reason why there were no women in this room,” Dia posted on Twitter as a comment on actor Akshay Kumar’s post upon meeting the PM.
“How can an entire industry be represented only by men,” questioned Dia in another tweet.
When a social media user questioned Dia about why everything has become about competition between men and women, she commented: “It’s not about competition! It’s such a fundamental thing. If we hope to achieve equality we must be included in all conversations! Of course women are doing well. We are doing well despite the fact that we are excluded. And doesn’t that need to change?”
The meeting, held in Mumbai on Tuesday, had a room full of men. The delegation, including the likes of Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Prasoon Joshi, pitched for lower and uniform rates of GST for the entertainment industry in India, apart from calling for the development of Mumbai as the global entertainment capital, through various initiatives and proactive approaches.
Actress Sandhya Mridul also wrote to Akshay saying: “Great. We women have no issues to discuss. Obviously.”
My family is critical about my work: Gulfam Khan
Mumbai– Actress Gulfam Khan, who has featured in TV shows like “Naamkarann” and “Laado 2”, says her family is quite critical about her work.
She is currently essaying the role of Nazneen in the show “Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga”.
“My family is very critical about my work. But when I entered my sister’s house three days ago, my niece called out to me, ‘Aao Aladdin ki chachi’, that in itself is an achievement for me. It feels so nice when you are known by the character you have portrayed,” Gulfam said in a statement.
Gulfam said late legendary actress Manorama is her inspiration for the role.
“The inspiration for this character clearly came from legendary actress Manorama, who played the chachi in the film ‘Seeta aur Geeta’. She inspires everything that Nazneen does.” (IANS)
