Adah Sharma feels lucky to be an actor
Mumbai– Actress Adah Sharma says she is lucky to be an actor and do things she might not do in real life.
Adah, who has worked in films such as “1920”, “Heart Attack” and “Commando 2”, shared a clip of the Hindi dubbed version of her 2019 Tamil film, “Charlie Chaplin 2”, on Wednesday. The film stars Prabhudheva.
“I’m so lucky I can be an actor in the movies and do all this stuff that I probably won’t be able to do in real life. I get a lot of messages giving me so much love in ‘Charlie Chaplin 2’,” she tweeted.
Adah will next be seen in “Commando 3” and has just wrapped up shooting for “Bypass Road”, which marks the debut of Neil Nitin Mukesh’s brother Naman as director.
Jay Bhanushali back as ‘Superstar Singer’ host
Mumbai– Host-actor Jay Bhanushali on Wednesday resumed shooting for the reality music show “Superstar Singer” after missing a week due to his health.
“I’m happy to be back, as ‘Superstar Singer’ is very close to my heart. The last one week I was extremely unwell and was down with viral fever, but I am glad I am now back and that too with more excitement and zeal,” Jay told IANS.
Rithvik Dhanjani stepped in as Jay’s replacement during the latter’s absence.
“I had taken Jay’s place for the ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisaan’ special episode on the show. The contestants of ‘Superstar Singer’ are extremely talented and are doing wonders on screen. I had a lot of fun. Jay had health issues, so I took to the stage because he is a really good friend,” Rithvik said.
Karisma Kapoor’s love for sari started after ‘Biwi No.1 ‘
Mumbai– On National Handloom Day on Wednesday, actress Karisma Kapoor expressed her love for saris, saying it started after she worked in the film “Biwi No.1”.
“My love for the saree and Indian handloom started with this film… any guesses?,” Karisma posted on Instagram along with a still of the 1999 film “Biwi No.1”, in which she can be seen wearing a red sari.
As the 45-year-old did not mention the name of the film and asked her followers to guess, fans flooded her comment section with the right answer.
Directed by David Dhawan, “Biwi No. 1” also starred Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Tabu and Sushmita Sen in pivotal roles, and was one of the biggest blockbusters of 1999.
Rakul Preet Singh takes belly dancing lessons
Mumbai– Actress Rakul Preet Singh is taking belly dancing lessons for her next film “Marjaavaan”. She says getting all the moves right for the intricate dance form is not easy.
“The moves are very rapid, so you need to be quick and yet make it look smooth. That is not easy,” Rakul said, of her preparations for a song in the movie.
Rakul says belly dancing has also become an additional form of workout because it helps keep her fit.
“At the end of the day, you get a well-toned sexy stomach, so it is worth the effort,” said the actress, adding that she tries to ensure she she gets time for belly dancing daily.
“Of course, it depends on my schedule, but I do it whenever I get free time. You never know enough (of any art), and if you can find time for it, you can always work on your skills and try to be a better version of yourself. That’s the idea,” she said.
Directed by Milap Zaveri, “Marjaavaan” is an action-thriller featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh.
Pooja Bedi’s daughter Alaia wraps up debut film
London– Actress Pooja Bedi’s daughter Alaia F. has completed shooting for her debut film “Jawaani Jaaneman”.
“Gratitude and excitement is all I feel. It’S a wrap for me on ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I couldn’t have asked for anything more,” Alaia tweeted on Wednesday.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, “Jawaani Jaaneman” is a romantic comedy drama, which also features Saif Ali Khan and Tabu.
The film releases on November 29.
Bhansali films influenced my decision to join B’wood: Jacqueline
Mumbai– Actress Jacqueline Fernandez says the films of Sanjay Leela Bhansali are a major reason that influenced her desire to work in Hindi films.
“The first Bollywood film I watched was ‘Asoka’ (Santosh Sivan’s 2001 directorial). I saw Kareena dancing and she was stunning. It was like watching ‘The Last Of The Mohicans’ or ‘Braveheart’. After that I watch ‘Devdas’, and then ‘Black’. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been a huge part of me wanting to do Hindi films,” said the actress, who made her Bollywood debut with Sujoy Ghosh’s 2009 film “Aladin”.
The actress opened up about her influences in IMDb Original “The Insider’s Watchlist”.
Jacqueline revealed her favourite shows were “Game Of Thrones”, “Seinfeld”, “Veep”, “30 Rock”, “You”, “13 Reasons Why” and “Stranger Things”.
The “Kick” star will soon be seen in Netflix’s upcoming thriller “Mrs. Serial Killer”.
“Mrs. Serial Killer” is about a woman whose husband has been framed and imprisoned for serial murders. She needs to perform a murder exactly like the serial killer, to prove that her husband is innocent. The film is directed by Shirish Kunder and produced by his wife, filmmaker Farah Khan.
Been fortunate to the get trust of some of best filmmakers: Bhumi
Mumbai– Ever since her acting debut in 2015 Bhumi Pednekar has worked with talented directors like Sharat Katariya, R.S Prasanna, Abhishek Chaubey and Zoya Akhtar among many others. The actress says she has been fortunate enough to get the trust of some of the best filmmakers of the country.
“As an artist, I’m constantly looking for good scripts. I’m constantly hungry for great content and thankfully I have been fortunate enough to get the trust of some of the best filmmakers of our country,” Bhumi said in a statement.
The actress has an interesting slate of films coming up. She will be seen in “Saand Ki Aankh”, “Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship”, “Dolly Kitty Aur Wo Chamakte Sitare”, “Bala”, “Pati Patni Aur Woh” and “Takht”.
“My next films are also scripts that are extremely diverse and are brilliant scripts that I truly love. Each one of them are projects that will present me in extremely different avatars and that’s what excites me to do cinema. I get to be such diverse characters, learn about them, live their lives and become them,” she added.
Big B ‘disturbed and saddened’ by Sushma Swaraj’s death
Mumbai– Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he is deeply “disturbed and saddened” by the news of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s sudden demise.
Swaraj, 67, passed away late on Tuesday after suffering a massive cardiac arrest.
“Disturbed and saddened at the sudden passing of Sushma Swarajji. An extraordinary speaker and politician, a friend and amiable countenance.. ever extending a helping hand to those in distress. Just prayers now for the peace of her soul,” Amitabh wrote on his blog.
He added that “death brings such imminent uncertainties about”.
“The mind travels disturbed and of thoughts that invade the policy of existence in us all and you wonder,” he concluded.
Suhana Khan to star in short film
London– Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, who recently graduated from Ardingly College in London, is all set to make her acting debut in the English short film, “The Grey Part Of Blue”.
“The Grey Part Of Blue” is directed by Suhana’s classmate Theo Gimeno.
Gimeno shared the film’s poster on Instagram, which features Suhana. Apart from the star kid, the movie stars Robin Gonnella.
Earlier, Suhana had played the lead in a theatrical performance, and now all eyes are set on her screen debut.
“I don’t think there was any one moment when I decided (to become an actor). Since I was young, I’d do all these accents and impressions. But my parents only realised I was serious about acting when they saw a performance of mine for the first time. I was playing Miranda in a school performance of ‘The Tempest’. There’s so much to learn, and one way to do it is to start [working] early, but first I want to go to university and finish studies,” Suhana had earlier told a magazine, expressing her love for acting.
Ekta Kapoor show on Nanavati case 75 per cent real: Viraf Patel
Mumbai– Actor Viraf Phiroz Patel, who will be seen playing a pivotal role in Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming web show “The Verdict: State Vs Nanavati”, says the show maintains a proper balance between reality and fiction.
“The Verdict: State Vs Nanavati” is based on the 1959 case of KM Nanavati versus the State of Maharashtra. It involved the murder of a man called Prem Ahuja by Naval Commander Kawas Manekshaw Nanavati due to the former’s sexual relationship with his wife. The Akshay Kumar-starrer “Rustom” was broadly based on the case.
In the Ekta Kapoor show, Viraf will portray the role of Prem.
“After my first reading session with the creators and director, I asked them about how much fiction and reality would be there in the show. I was told it’s about 75 per cent real and 25 per cent fiction, in order to convey reality effectively. There are several moments in the script that made me think, ‘wow, this actually happened in my country’. I guess that’s an interesting aspect of being part of true stories that are interesting to watch,” Viraf told IANS. (IANS)
