BOSTON—Teams from across North America will participate in 14th annual Boston Bhangra Competition, which will be held on Nov. 11 at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston. The event has been sold out every year.

To add more excitement to the event, Boston Bhangra will have special performances by Punjabi MC’s legendary singer, Ashok Gill. He has never been to the North America before and is expected to blow the audience away with his hit songs: Morni, Balle Balle, Bari Barsi, Hogeya Sharabi, Gora Gora and more, said Rohit Bhambi, organizer of the event and founder of Boston Bhangra Competition.

He said best Bhangra teams from North America are expected to compete for the top prize.

“This is what you will get from the 14th annual Boston Bhangra Competition. It looks like Boston Bhangra has found a niche market where they have been able to get some of the best teams from North America, some great live performing artists and cheap tickets to keep this an event on the up and up.  This year should be no different,” Bhambi said.

The Boston Bhangra Competition, called BBC for short, will be hosted on November 11th, 2017 at the Orpheum Theatre.  The event has been sold out every year at one of the most historical theatres in Boston, which is located at 1 Hamilton Place in Boston, MA.  The capacity is close to 3,000 people, and they hope to sell out for the 14th straight year.

This year, the competition will have teams from all over the North America!  They will have teams from locations as far west as California, as far north as Toronto Canada and as close as Boston.  Locations that are being represented include the California, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia,  North Carolina, New York, Toronto, and of course Boston. These teams have consistently done well in many competitions, and they will once again make it difficult on the judges.

One World Cuisine will be the food vendor of choice as they will be serving snacks, dinner and drinks at the venue. You can also buy discounted tickets for the dinner vouchers ahead of the competition!

Ticket prices range in price from $25 for general admission through $45 for VIP.  There are even $100 VVIP tickets if one wants to watch Bhangra in style.

“This is very cheap for a show of this caliber that will be highlighted with more than 3 hours of exciting bhangra from some of the best teams in North America,” Bhambi said. “This is a show for the people.  We want everybody to come and enjoy Bhangra. That is why we try to keep ticket prices as cheap as possible.  We don’t want people to get turned away, unless they wait too long to buy tickets.”

E3UK, One World Cuisine, BMW of Sudbury, and Foley Hoag are some of the bigger sponsors that have helped to make this show a reality.
