Madhuri Dixit Shares Glimpses of Star-Studded Evening With Bollywood Friends

Mumbai — Actress Madhuri Dixit has shared glimpses of a star-studded gathering featuring several prominent figures from film, music, theater and business.

Dixit posted a video on Instagram showing her with fashion designer Manish Malhotra, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, actor Imran Khan, actress Shabana Azmi, actor Jackie Shroff, lyricist Javed Akhtar and filmmaker Boney Kapoor, among others.

The video showed Dixit posing with Shroff and Roshan, interacting with Malhotra and joining in dancing and singing during the gathering.

Reflecting on the evening, Dixit said it was meant to bring together people who had inspired, challenged and supported her and her husband, Shriram Nene, over the years.

“There are evenings that remind you that a life is really made of relationships,” she wrote, adding that friends from art, cinema, music, theater, health, business and other fields had gathered under one roof.

She said the evening also brought reunions, new friendships and renewed connections.

“In a world that moves so quickly, this evening was really about something very simple: people, friendship, and the relationships we choose to hold on to,” Dixit wrote.

Dixit and Nene thanked those who attended and helped make the gathering memorable.

Sara Ali Khan Enjoys Swiss Getaway With Mother Amrita Singh

Mumbai — Actress Sara Ali Khan is enjoying a getaway in Switzerland with her mother, veteran actress Amrita Singh, and has shared scenic glimpses from their trip.

Khan posted photos and videos on social media featuring mountain views, lakes, glaciers, rivers and fountains across the Swiss Alps.

“Peace & Pahad = Mommy & Mountain,” she wrote, adding that having her mother along made the vacation even more special.

The photos showed Khan posing with Singh against the Alpine backdrop, along with several solo shots. She also shared videos from the trip, including one showing her taking in mountain views during a cable car ride.

Khan has been spending time in Switzerland after an earlier visit to London, where she combined professional commitments with a family holiday.

On the work front, Khan is preparing to promote her upcoming film “Udta Teer,” co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana and scheduled for theatrical release in September.

Raveena Tandon Reflects on Her On-Screen Chemistry With Govinda

Mumbai — Actress Raveena Tandon says she and Karisma Kapoor were among Govinda’s strongest on-screen partners, recalling her successful collaborations with the actor.

Tandon, who will appear as a special guest on the semifinal episode of “India’s Best Dancer” Season 5, spoke about working with Govinda and the story behind their 1998 film “Dulhe Raja.”

She said the two had previously signed films together that did not work out. During a trip to Calcutta for a store opening, Govinda suggested they make a film together. They visited a Kali temple early the next morning before beginning work on “Dulhe Raja.”

Speaking about their chemistry, Tandon said, “Besides Lolo and me, I don’t think we pair up anyone else that brilliantly with Chichi,” referring to Karisma Kapoor by her nickname Lolo and Govinda as Chichi.

Tandon also credited Govinda with helping her develop her comic timing.

“His sense of dancing, his sense of timing, his sense of comedy — I tell people that I actually learned comic timing from Chichi,” she said.

She recalled that their shared love of dancing also created a friendly rivalry while filming the song “Ladka Deewana Lage,” with each trying to deliver a better shot than the other.

Tandon and Govinda later appeared together in several films, including “Gair,” “Dariya Dil,” “Gharana” and “Aunty No. 1.”

“India’s Best Dancer” Season 5 airs on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.

Akshara Singh Extends Support to Women Affected by Bihar Floods

Mumbai — Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh has extended support to women affected by flooding in Bihar, saying she felt a responsibility to help after visiting impacted areas.

Singh said she personally saw the difficulties facing women and provided assistance based on what she believed was most urgently needed.

“Women are facing a lot of problems. I went yesterday and saw it personally,” she said. “Being a female, the things that I felt I should help, especially women, I have done it from my side, a small help.”

The actress said she hoped to be able to do more in the future.

“I want God to make me a little more capable so that I can do more for people,” she said.

Singh also spoke about her connection to Bihar, saying her success and recognition came from the people of the state.

“I came because I am a daughter of Bihar. I feel that it is my responsibility,” she said.

She urged others to come forward and support people affected by the floods.

Flooding has reportedly affected nearly five million people in Bihar, with several major rivers flowing above danger levels. Among the affected districts are Patna, Bhojpur, Saran, Vaishali, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Buxar, Samastipur, Munger, Katihar, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Purnea, Madhepura and Araria.

Supreme Court Issues Notice to Boney Kapoor, Janhvi and Khushi in Sridevi Property Dispute

New Delhi — The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to film producer Boney Kapoor and his daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor in a property dispute involving 2.70 acres of land in Chennai that was purchased by late actress Sridevi and her family.

A Bench of Justices K.V. Viswanathan and Arun Pillai directed the parties to maintain the status quo and suggested that they explore mediation. The matter has been listed for December 18.

The petition was filed by M.C. Sivakami and her brother M.C. Natarajan, who claim a share in the property and are challenging an April 20 order of the Madras High Court.

The High Court had rejected their civil suit, ruling that their challenge to property transactions dating back to 1988 was barred by limitation and that they had not established a legally sustainable claim.

The dispute concerns land in Sholinganallur, Chennai. The petitioners claim to be legal heirs of M.C. Chandrasekaran and have sought a one-fifth share in the property, along with declarations that 1988 sale deeds executed in favor of Rajeshwari, Sreelatha and Sridevi were invalid.

Before the Supreme Court, the petitioners argued that the High Court went beyond the scope of deciding whether the suit itself should be rejected by examining disputed questions about their legal-heir status.

Appearing for the Kapoor family, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi argued that the transactions took place in 1988 while the present suit was filed only in 2025, making the claim time-barred.

Rasika Dugal Says ‘Manto’ Helped Revive Her Career

Mumbai — Actress Rasika Dugal says the 2018 biographical drama “Manto” played an important role in reviving her career during a difficult period.

In an interview, Dugal reflected on major turning points in her career, including her roles as Beena Tripathi in “Mirzapur” and Safiya in “Manto.”

“Beena has given me fame, a wide audience and also a box-office hit. Safiya will always be very important in my life because I think it is a story about a celebrated writer,” she said.

Dugal said director Nandita Das made sure the film did not overlook the story of Saadat Hasan Manto’s wife, Safiya.

“Sometimes it happens that we remember the stories of men and forget the stories of women,” she said, adding that she was proud the film gave Safiya’s story its own importance.

Dugal said working with Das and her co-stars helped ensure Safiya was not treated as a secondary character.

The actress is also known for playing Beena Tripathi in “Mirzapur,” alongside Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. (Source: IANS)
