Mika Singh Reveals How Impromptu Coffee Meeting With Rai Laxmi Led to ‘Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein’

MUMBAI– Bollywood singer Mika Singh has revealed that his collaboration with actress Rai Laxmi on the music video for “Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein” came together unexpectedly, with the two deciding to work on the project during a casual coffee meeting and filming it the following day.
Recalling the experience, Singh said the project required virtually no advance planning and emerged from a spontaneous conversation between longtime friends.
“Rai Laxmi is an old friend, and our song ‘Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein’ happened so spontaneously! There was absolutely no preparation or planning. We were sitting together, sipping coffee, when we thought, why not do something together? Believe it or not, the very next day, we shot the song,” Singh said.
The singer recently reunited with Laxmi, bringing back memories of the collaboration and their longstanding friendship.
Singh said the experience remains particularly meaningful because of the personal connection he shares with the actress.
“Sometimes, the most beautiful memories are created without any planning. This song is one of my absolute favourites because I shot it with one of my favourite people. It will always remain special to me,” he added.
The music video for “Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein” features Rai Laxmi alongside Singh. The track includes vocals by Singh and Sneha Shankar.
The romantic song draws on lyrics written by Anand Bakshi and an original composition by legendary music director R. D. Burman.
The music video was directed by Sushma Sunam and Harry Jordan, with choreography by Sunam.
Singh’s reflections on the song come shortly after he attracted attention for publicly defending his elder brother, veteran Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi, following an incident at a religious and cultural event in Uttarakhand.
Mehndi had faced questions about his behavior during the event, prompting Singh to address speculation surrounding his brother’s condition.
Singh said Mehndi does not consume alcohol and attributed his apparent disorientation to recent health problems and a major medical procedure.
The singer’s latest comments about “Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein” highlight the personal significance of the collaboration and the friendship that inspired its unexpected creation. (Source: IANS)
