Preity Zinta Once Said Saif Ali Khan Would Be Her Last Call in a Crisis

MUMBAI, India — Preity Zinta once joked that Saif Ali Khan would be the last person from the film industry she would call in a crisis, recalling a message he sent her during one of the most frightening moments of her life.

During an appearance on “Koffee with Karan,” Zinta was asked who she would least likely call if she were kidnapped. She named Khan, explaining that he had sent her a teasing message while she was caught in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

“Because I was in the tsunami and I had the worst experience of my life, and he sends me a message going, ‘Hey, PZ, underwater or what?’ I was just like, ‘Ah! What kind of a guy is he?’” Zinta said.

Zinta was vacationing in Phuket when the Dec. 26, 2004, tsunami struck the Indian Ocean region, killing more than 230,000 people across about 14 countries.

Zinta and Khan later appeared together in “Kal Ho Naa Ho” and “Salaam Namaste.” Zinta is now preparing for her big-screen comeback in “Lahore 1947,” directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and backed by Aamir Khan. The film stars Sunny Deol and is set against the backdrop of India’s partition.

Rakul Preet Singh Credits Jackky Bhagnani for Support During Recovery

MUMBAI, India — Rakul Preet Singh said her husband, producer Jackky Bhagnani, was her biggest source of support during her recovery from a serious injury.

Rakul Preet Singh

Appearing with Bhagnani on “Famously Fit with Sophie,” hosted by Sophie Choudry, Singh said he remained patient throughout the process.

“He has been my biggest support… he never cribbed about my road to recovery, we did everything together,” Singh said. “He is all ears when he is listening to me, so that’s half the battle won.”

The couple also spoke about fitness as a shared routine rather than a goal tied to appearance. Bhagnani compared working out to “taking a shower,” while Singh said exercise is simply how they begin the day.

“You know some people read every day, some people eat some food every day, so for us it’s a routine — uthke workout kiya phir din shuru hota hai,” Singh said. “And this is not for losing weight, not to look a certain way, not for show but for us.”

Bhagnani also reflected on producing, calling it a difficult job that has made him “a more humble and a better person.”

Singh and Bhagnani confirmed their relationship in 2021 and married in Goa in 2024. Their episode of “Famously Fit with Sophie” is streaming on Amazon MX Player.
