BOSTON — Krossroads Performing Arts (KPA) is set to captivate audiences this May 8–10 with Dreamscape in a Box, a vibrant multilingual theater festival celebrating storytelling across cultures, languages, and artistic styles.
The festival opens Friday evening with an inauguration ceremony followed by a special monologue showcase at 7 p.m., featuring nine performers presenting original, thought-provoking pieces. Over the next two days, theatergoers can experience nine diverse plays created by Boston-based artists alongside visiting groups from Chicago, Houston, and New Jersey.

Designed with inclusivity at its core, every performance will include English supertitles, ensuring accessibility for audiences regardless of language.
Founded in 2018 by Jayati Banerjee and Amitabha Lala, Krossroads Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering meaningful engagement through theater. The group has built a reputation for producing original work that tackles complex social themes, including prejudice, gun violence, mental health, loneliness, and human relationships.
“Our high-quality productions have traveled to festivals across the United States,” said Banerjee. “One of our recent works was even featured in a panel discussion with physicians exploring how social media, digital exposure, and artificial intelligence are shaping mental health across generations. Our artistic range spans from powerful street plays to imaginative science fiction productions.”

Beyond staging performances, KPA has also focused on nurturing the artistic community by mentoring emerging performers and creating opportunities for local talent to shine.
