Modi Tops Global Leader Approval Ratings at 68 Percent, Survey Finds

NEW DELHI — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again been ranked the world’s most popular leader, securing a 68 percent approval rating in a new survey conducted by U.S.-based data analytics firm Morning Consult.
The survey, conducted between March 2 and March 8, places Modi well ahead of his global counterparts, reinforcing his continued political strength both at home and abroad. He has maintained the top position despite serving three consecutive terms in office.
In comparison, U.S. President Donald Trump did not make the top 10 list, registering a 39 percent approval rating in the same survey.
Other leaders trailing Modi include Switzerland’s president Guy Parmelin and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, who are tied for second place with 62 percent approval ratings.
Leaders from the Czech Republic and Argentina follow in third and fourth place with approval ratings of 57 percent and 56 percent, respectively.
Several European leaders ranked significantly lower. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer recorded a 24 percent approval rating, while French President Emmanuel Macron was near the bottom of the list at 17 percent.
The latest survey underscores Modi’s enduring popularity as he reaches a major milestone in his political career. Over the weekend, he became the longest-serving head of government in India, completing 8,931 days in office when combining his tenure as chief minister of Gujarat and prime minister.
Morning Consult said its ratings are based on a seven-day moving average of adult opinions across the countries surveyed. (Source: IANS)
