US House Intelligence Committee Visits MIT, Meets Dean Anantha P. Chandrakasan and Other Faculty Members

CAMBRIDGE, MA–US House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (OH-10) and Ranking Member Jim Himes (CT-04) visited the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with eight of their fellow committee members.

Chairman Turner and Ranking Member Himes were joined by Representatives Rick Crawford (AR-01), Darin LaHood (IL-16), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), Austin Scott (GA-08), French Hill (AR-02), Mike Waltz (FL-06), Ami Bera (CA-06), and Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06).

The purpose of the trip was to meet with Professor Anantha P. Chandrakasan, Dean of MIT’s School of Engineering, Professor Daniel Huttenlocher, Dean of MIT’s Schwarzman College of Computing, and other MIT faculty members to learn more about artificial intelligence and technological innovation in the context of U.S. national security. The members were able to speak with some of MIT’s leading professors and hear about cutting-edge technology and how it will impact our nation’s future.
