Correction: Ravi Sakhuja First Indian-American to Run and Win Town-Wide Election in Lexington in 2006

In an article dated March 7, 2017, INDIA New England News incorrectly reported that Neerja Bajaj was the first Indian-American to run for the town-wide election for Lexington School Committee.

Bajaj, who lost the election this month, is not the first Indian-American to run for either a town-wide election or for the School Committee election in Lexington, MA.

Ravi Sakhuja, a long-time resident of Lexington and a former national President of the Indian American Forum for Political Education as well as its local New England chapter, had successfully run and won the town-wide election for School Committee of Lexington.

Sakhuja served as a member the Lexington School Committee from 2006 to 2009. INDIA New England News regrets the error.
