Sonu Nigam Looks Back on Early Musical Days With Rare 1993 Throwback

Mumbai — Singer Sonu Nigam revisited the early days of his music career Friday, sharing a rare throwback post from 1993.
Nigam posted photos on Instagram from Filmistan Studio in Goregaon, connected to the track “Main Duniya Teri Chhod Chala.” The post offered a nostalgic glimpse into the beginning of his musical journey.
“My beginning (3) | Main Duniya Teri Chhod Chala | Sept 1993 Filmistan Studio, Goregaon #throwback,” he wrote.
“Main Duniya Teri Chhod Chala” was released on July 1, 1993, by T-Series as part of the album “Bewafa.”
Last week, Nigam also shared a video clip from his 1997 music video “Sapne Ki Baat Main Bataoon,” another post reflecting on his early years in the entertainment industry.
“My beginning (2) | Sapne Ki Baat Main Bataun | Early 1997 #flashback,” he wrote. The song featured a young Nigam in a different look and also included actress and model Aditi Govitrikar.
Nigam began his entertainment career in the early 1990s. His first playback song in a film was “O Aasmanwale” from “Aaja Meri Jaan” in 1993. He first gained attention with the TV serial track “Hum To Chhaila Ban Gaye” from “Talash” and later rose to wider fame with songs such as “Achha Sila Diya,” “Sandese Aate Hai” and “Yeh Dil Deewana.”
His 1999 album “Deewana” further strengthened his popularity.
Over a career spanning more than three decades, Nigam has recorded more than 6,000 songs in over 32 languages. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2022 for his contribution to music.
In addition to singing, Nigam has also acted in films, including the 2002 fantasy action film “Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani,” directed by Rajkumar Kohli. (Source: IANS)
