FORDS, NJ—The Miss, Mrs. and Teen India USA Pageant is set for Sunday, Dec. 18th at Royal Albert’s Palace in Fords, New Jersey. A total of 52 contestants from around the country are expected to participate in the national pageant.
Dharmatma Saram, founder and president of the India USA pageant, said that out of all the competitions, Mrs. India USA, which was started only two years ago, is growing the fastest.
“We have received a very good response to Mrs. India USA,” Saran told INDIA New England News. “The participants are all well-settled and have no financial hurdles of any kind.”
He said there are 21 contestants each in both the Mrs. India USA and Miss India USA categories. There are 10 contestants in Miss Teen India USA category. This year marks the 35th anniversary of Miss India USA, the 5th year for Miss India Teen USA and the 3rd year for Mrs. India USA.
Winners of the India USA pageants will go onto the India Worldwide competition, which will be held in Mumbai next year, Saran said.
Aryan Vaid, an Indian male model and winner of the Graviera Mr. India modelling pageant, the Mister International Award 2000, and a contestant on the television reality show Big Boss, will host the pageant along with Namita Dodwadkar, the reigning Mrs. India Worldwide from Massachusetts and Anuradha Maharaj, a former Miss India Trinidad.
