New Delhi– Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday declared that India’s domestically produced defense systems have emerged as a formidable force in 21st-century warfare, citing their effectiveness during the recent Operation Sindoor against Pakistan.

In a national address, Modi emphasized that the precision and power of India’s military response had not only eliminated terrorist hubs but also inflicted heavy damage on Pakistani airbases deep within enemy territory. “The world is now witnessing the rise of ‘Made in India’ defense systems as a dominant force in modern warfare,” he stated.

Operation Sindoor showcased India’s ability to conduct precise, high-impact strikes, with the Prime Minister noting that the campaign had left Pakistan “frustrated and desperate.” Rather than joining the international effort to combat terrorism, Modi said, Pakistan responded with indiscriminate attacks on Indian civilian sites—including schools, temples, gurdwaras, and residential areas—alongside military targets.

According to Modi, Pakistan’s offensive quickly unraveled in the face of India’s advanced air defense systems, which intercepted and destroyed incoming drones and missiles with pinpoint accuracy. “Their drones and missiles crumbled like straw in our skies,” he remarked.

While Pakistan had prepared for a conventional conflict along the border, India delivered a strategic blow at the heart of its military infrastructure. Indian drones and missiles struck key Pakistani airbases—long touted as critical components of its defense posture—causing damage that, according to Modi, “far exceeded their expectations” in the first 72 hours of India’s response.

Following India’s show of force, Modi said, Pakistan began reaching out to the international community to seek a de-escalation of hostilities. “Once again, India’s strength forced the enemy to look for an exit,” he added.

Operation Sindoor, Modi asserted, is the latest example of India’s growing military edge over Pakistan—both on traditional battlefields and in advanced domains such as drone warfare and precision strikes. “We’ve consistently prevailed on the battlefield, and this operation adds a new chapter in our military dominance,” he said, underscoring India’s capabilities in both desert and mountain warfare, as well as what he described as “New Age Warfare.”

The operation marked a major milestone for India’s defense sector. Modi highlighted the successful deployment of indigenous BrahMos missiles to destroy Pakistani airbases and air defense installations. He also praised the performance of Kamikaze drones, developed under the ‘Make in India’ initiative by Adani Group’s Alpha Design Technologies in collaboration with Israel’s Elbit Systems.

Built in Bengaluru, the SkyStriker drones offer up to two hours of loitering capability and have proven capable of delivering precise and lethal strikes. Their successful use in Operation Sindoor represents a leap forward in India’s goal of self-reliance in defense technology.

“These achievements reflect a new era of Indian defense strength—homegrown, cutting-edge, and ready to meet any challenge,” Modi concluded. (Source: IANS)
