FRAMINGHAM, MA – The American Lung Association of the Northeast will educate physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses and other health professionals about lung cancer screening and innovations in lung cancer treatment at its New Hope in the Fight Against Lung Cancer program which will take place at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel on Thursday, April 28.
The free event, which will include dinner, will run from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. Nurses and respiratory therapists may earn up to two continuing education units by attending.
“Making sure that health care professionals understand the current lung cancer screening guidelines and are armed with the latest information about lung cancer treatment ultimately benefits lung cancer patients and their families and improves outcomes,” said Jeff Seyler, President & CEO of the American Lung Association of the Northeast. “We’re grateful to be able to offer our New Hope program in Framingham. This program works hand-in-hand with our LUNG FORCE campaign which is uniting people all across the country to stand together against lung cancer and for lung health.”
The LUNG FORCE New Hope event offers an opportunity for health professionals and experts to come together to share information so that health care professionals are able to explain the USPSTF lung cancer screening guidelines; identify common barriers to lung cancer screening in the high risk population; describe the appropriate treatment for the different stages of lung cancer; and learn the needs of lung cancer patients.
