“Whether we are going to Diwali parties, special events, weddings or even simple outing with friends, it the knowledge of the latest trends is essential to fully enjoy the occasion in style,” says Ambika Mangtani, founder of IndofashionZ.

Mangtani advises the following:

Salwar-kameez, choodiars, sarees, or Indo-wester fusion gowns are always a great idea and a little more attention can make them trendy, sporty of classy as the occasion demands.

Latest styles are influenced by western elements, while maintaining classical Indian concepts.

Asymmetric elements are very popular in contemporary top, kurta and cape designs. Popular styles include variations such as short front with long back, and uneven lengths on sides. They pair nicely with skirts, pallazos and dhoti style bottoms.

Front and side slit tops and dresses are perfect for party wear. Rib length high slits provide a modern look, when paired with silk pants or pallazos.

Floor touching Anarakalis are popular for few seasons now. Long jackets paired with Anarkalis are the look of the current season. Brocade skirts with crop tops and long jackets are all the rage.

Sarees with heavy work blouses are more popular than ever. Heritage or temple jewelry and chunky Kundan sets match perfectly with these styles.

Gotta work kurtas with skirts and dupattas are very popular, and gotta work dresses are the flavors of this Diwali season.
