BOSTON, MA— Gretchen Hayden has worked hard to create a thriving Kathak community in New England and in other parts of the country with her fellow Kathak enthusiasts. She is founder of the Chhandam Institute of Kathak Dance, known as Chhandika.
Chhandika is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. In an exclusive video interview with INDIA New England News, Hayden talks about Kathak Dance and her guru late Pandit Chitresh Das.
Hayden has contributed greatly to the fabric of the Indian classical arts, especially Kathak, across New England and beyond. She has ignited appreciation of and passion for Kathak, not only among the hundreds of students she has taught through the years, but also within the greater dance and arts community.
