Karan Johar takes a dig at Kangana again
Mumbai– There seems to be no end to the nepotism debate. Filmmaker Karan Johar has again taken a dig at actress Kangana Ranaut by choosing to say “someone else loves the subject” on being asked about nepotism at an event.
Kangana had infamously called Karan a flag-bearer of nepotism in Bollywood, sparking a debate that has stretched out for long.
During an interaction with YouTuber Bhuvan Bam at the YouTube fan fest, Karan was asked why does he love the subject nepotism so much.
Known for his quick wit, Karan said, without taking any name: “No, I don’t love this subject… Someone else loves the topic. Main bolunga toh log bolte hain ki main bolta hun (If I say something, people say that I talk a lot). So I will continue doing my work and let the other person do the talking about it.”
Kangana had on Karan’s chat show accused the filmmaker of favouring the star kids in the industry.
Biggest reward is to entertain audience: Rajkummar
Mumbai– National Award winning actor Rajkummar Rao is sweeping awards again. He says awards make him feel special, but for him the biggest reward is to entertain the audience.
It has been just three months but the actor, who won hearts for his performance in last year’s films “Stree” and “Omerta”, has already been honoured at GQ Style and Culture Awards and Filmfare Middle East.
“Last year was quite special in terms of the films that I did, which also gave me the opportunity to portray diverse roles on screen. Similarly, this year too, I’m fortunate to be a part of interesting projects varied in genre,” Rajkummar said in a statement.
“Awards make you feel special, but for me the biggest reward is to entertain the audience. I’m grateful to the audience for always showering me with their love and support,” he added.
The “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga” actor has many more exciting films — “Made in China”, “Mental Hai Kya”, “Turram Khan”, “Imli” and Anurag Basu’s next — lined up this year.
Shah Rukh’s ‘Zero’ to close Beijing film fest
Beijing– Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Zero” will be the closing film of the Beijing International Film Festival.
The festival, which will run from April 13 to April 20, will open with “The Composer”, a forthcoming Chinese-Kazakh co-production, as its opening title.
The decision to programme “Zero” in such a prominent slot underlines the growing success which Indian films are enjoying with Chinese audiences, reports variety.com.
Directed by Aanand L. Rai, the Hindi language film released in December last year.
It features SRK as a person with dwarfism in a love triangle with a scientist with cerebral palsy (actress Anushka Sharma) and a famous actress (Katrina Kaif).
“The Composer” is the first movie to emerge from a cooperation agreement between China and Kazakhstan under Chinese President Xi Jinping’s infrastructure-building project, the Belt and Road Initiative.
Salman’s dance from ‘Dabangg 3’ goes viral
Mumbai– Glimpses from a dance video on a song from the third instalment of superstar Salman Khan-starrer “Dabangg” got the social media world talking.
Salman is currently shooting for “Dabangg 3” in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. A video of the title track being shot made its way online and has gone viral, with some social media users commenting on Salman’s dance style.
It features Salman shooting for the song on the banks of the Narmada river. He is seen wearing a blue shirt and a pair of jeans with his sunglasses in place for his avatar as the quirky Chulbul Pandey in the film.
The people in Indore are ecstatic about Salman shooting in the city. He has been attracting a huge crowd wherever he has been shooting.
Amit Sharma hopes to work with Ranveer, Deepika again
Mumbai– “Badhaai Ho” director Amit Sharma, who has directed Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in an ad film, says he is looking forward to more collaborations with the couple.
Sharma helmed a television commercial for an electronic brand’s campaign.
Sharing his experience, he said in a statement: “Me and my entire team of Chrome Pictures had a blast during the shoot. There were only positive vibes on the set as both Ranveer and Deepika are thorough professionals, and I think we churned a great final product together which you all can see. I hope we collaborate in the future soon.”
Saqib Saleem pens emotional note for mother
Mumbai– Actor Saqib Saleem says he is thankful to his mother for helping him be independent and for preparing him to face the world.
In an emotional note, Saqib penned how he is grateful to her for her unconditional support.
“Mom, you are not just the reason for my existence but also made me self-aware and independent and prepared me well to face the world,” he said.
“I am really grateful to you and appreciate your unconditional love and support in bringing me up and making me what I am today. Aapke bina main kuch nahi ma (I am nothing without you),” he added.
Saqib wrote the letter after getting inspired by show “Mom & Co.”. Choreographer Terence Lewis and actor Aparshakti Khurana also wrote a note for their mother.
Destined to work with Kangana again: Anurag Basu
New Delhi– Kangana Ranaut was due to collaborate for the third time with Anurag Basu after “Gangster” and “Life in a… Metro”, but she is not going to be a part of it anymore. The filmmaker is however hopeful, and says they are destined to work together again.
Basu was to direct Kangana in a project tentatively titled “Imali”. But she has moved on from the project to focus on her directorial venture.
Amidst news that Kangana “opted” out of the project, Basu told IANS: “She didn’t opt. We were supposed to start the film last November. But then (her) ‘Manikarnika’ schedule got changed. Then I got busy with my current film, and then she got busy with ‘Panga’. It started a never-ending dynamo of confusion on dates.”
“But we are destined to work together again. I’m sure it will happen sooner or later,” added the filmmaker, who launched the versatile actress in Bollywood with “Gangster” in 2006. (IANS)
