No competition with brother Ayushmann: Aparshakti
New Delhi– Actor Aparshakti Khurana says there can’t be any scope of competition between him and his brother Ayushmann Khurrana.
“Competition generally happens between two equals. In our case, Ayushmann and I are in different spaces of cinema. He has always been a front-runner. His films differ from mine, and so does our audience.
“There can’t be any comparison, because comparison takes place between two equals and we both have different paths in the industry. There can’t be any competition,” Aparshakti told IANS.
He also shared his desire to work with his elder brother on screen.
“Ayushmann is a brilliant actor. He is doing a great job. We both really want to work together. Unfortunately, we have not got any script yet. We both are looking forward to collaborate on something special,” he said.
Aparshakti is riding high on the success of “Luka Chuppi”, after wooing the audience with his comical performance in the 2018 hit “Stree”.
Shaheer Sheikh is supportive co-actor: Rhea Sharma
Mumbai– Actress Rhea Sharma says her “Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke” co-actor Shaheer Sheikh is extremely supportive and encouraging.
Talking about their chemistry as co-actors, Rhea said in a statement: “I saw him for the first time on television on the show ‘Navya…Naye Dhadkan Naye Sawaal’ and I loved his performance.
“I feel very lucky to be working with a talented actor like him. As a co-actor, he is extremely supportive and encouraging and we have a lot of fun during shoot.”
The show, aired on StarPlus, promises some romantic moments between the on-screen couple.
Hosting travel show a paid holiday: Naveen Kasturia
Mumbai– Actor Naveen Kasturia, part of a new travel show titled “Trails 2 Passion – Singapore Redefined”, says exploring a city on the job is like a “paid holiday” for him.
“It was absolutely a paid holiday. The shoot was hectic, but we had lots of fun. I didn’t have to plan an itinerary or do anything, except shoot and enjoy myself with all the experiences,” Naveen told IANS here.
Shooting for projects and travel are the two things the actor loves to do. And the experience turned out to be one-of-a-kind for him.
The show will start on April 1 on Tripoto, the social media channel.
Naveen, along with co-host Veer Rajwant Singh, will travel through the city and indulge in some fun and adventure sports.
Charu Asopa joins cast of ‘Vikram Betaal…’
Mumbai– Actress Charu Asopa will play Nayantara, who is both negative and positive, in Peninsula Pictures show “Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gatha”.
“Nayantara means ‘nyay ki putli’ (a person who gives justice). Nayantara is a positive character but over a period of time arrogance changes her and she becomes a negative character. She is cursed by Bhramadev thereafter,” Charu said in a statement.
“A fierce battle takes places between her and Vikram Aditya, who makes her understand and realise the value of life, thereby converting her into a positive character again. The show gives me an opportunity to play both negative and positive characters in a single episode which is quite challenging,” she added.
The show presents different stories each week with the main plot being the tussle between the good and the evil.
Transwoman cast in Bollywood film
Mumbai– Shree Ghatak Muhury, a transgender, has been cast in director Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s film “Season’s Greetings”.
It was producer Aritra Das who had introduced Shree to the director, and then she was auditioned for the role of Chapala.
“It was difficult to cast a male actor or a female actor to play the role of a transgender in the film. Most actors have certain inhabitation in portraying the role that’s not gender specific,” Mukherjee said in a statement.
“I wanted someone who would believe in the character, and perform with great poise, aesthetic sense and justify it,” he added.
On her character in the film, Shree said: “Working with Ram Kamal was a learning experience as he knew exactly what he wanted from me. He was very sure about my make-up, hair and costume. He wanted a particular look that would look real on-screen.
Kapil Dev’s daughter turns Asst Director for ’83’
New Delhi– Iconic cricketer Kapil Dev’s daughter Amiya has turned Assistant Director for “’83”, an upcoming Bollywood entertainer on India’s historical 1983 Cricket World Cup win.
Presented by Reliance Entertainment, “’83” is directed by Kabir Khan, and will see Ranveer Singh playing Kapil Dev. The cricketer himself has been closely associated with the project by training the actor.
His daughter too has been working hard on the film as an Assistant Director, a source from the production told IANS.
“Amiya is just out of college. As of now, it looks like she just wants to explore different things like most bright people do. She is very helpful to us, she knows the subject, she knows all the cricketers and she has access to all of them. She is also very willing to learn,” the source said.
Aditya claims he’s single, Arjun calls him liar
Mumbai– Actor Aditya Roy Kapur on Tuesday hinted that he is single, by posting a photograph of himself in a T-shirt which read “single”.
As soon as he uploaded the image on Instagram along with a caption “the single life”, his friends from the film industry called him a liar.
Actor Arjun Kapoor wrote: “Chal jootha”, while actress Parineeti Chopra called Aditya’s caption a “big lie”.
Earlier this year, on Karan Johar’s “Koffee with Karan” season 6, Aditya said that he is not dating anyone and that he is just “chilling”.
However, the buzz is Aditya has been dating Diva Dhawan.
So when filmmaker Karan asked him about his equation with Diva, Aditya had said: “She’s a lovely girl and an old friend. We met at a fashion show many years ago and we are good friends. We went out for dinner one night at this famous restaurant that everyone is going to nowadays, Bastian. So we got papped and stories started.” (IANS)
