I am instinctive and effortless: Aditi on her fashion sense
New Delhi– Aditi Rao Hydari creates fashion goals everytime she steps into the most intricate ethnic line or in a glamorous western outfit. The actress says that her fashion choices are instinctive and effortless and are always guided by the person she is .
“Yes I am instinctive and effortless with the choices I make… more than subtle,” Aditi told IANS in a statement when asked :if she likes to keep her fashion game subtle yet glamorous.
“I like to be at ease and a natural even if I’m wearing an elaborate Indian outfit with a lot of jewellery or a voluminous gown. I want it to look like I woke up like that… I let my choices be guided by the person I am and the kind of people who inspire me,” she added.
Aditi was in the Capital to launch designer Abhinav Mishra’s latest fall 2018 collection “Phiroza”- that was an amalgamation of heritage and contemporary fashion, reflecting the designer’s mission to create clothes for the young globally inclined Indian women, who are in tune with the international sensibilities of fashion and style while being honest to their own ethnic aesthetics.
The actress looked like royalty in a creation by the designer. The outfit was named Mehrunissa after her character in “Padmaavat”.
The actress, who impressed all with her performance as Mehrunissa in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic drama, is currently shooting Mani Ratnam’s next film along with a film set in space directed by Sankalp Reddy.
Rani Mukerji to be feted in Australia
Mumbai– Actress Rani Mukerji will be honoured at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), presented by the Victorian Government in Australia, for her contribution to cinema and for touching upon a social cause.
The ‘Excellence in Cinema’ Award this year will be given to the actress, whose film “Hichki” focuses on overcoming a physical challenge with sheer determination and positivity.
“The power of cinema to spread important social messages and enact positive changes is unmatched. As an actor, I have been blessed to have got the chance to be a part of such amazing films that have tried to make people sit up and think about society, the need to preserve human lives and to value each individuals dreams and aspirations,” Rani said in a statement.
She said it is humbling to be honoured by the provincial government of Victoria in Australia for a role that called for inclusion and equality of all individuals in our society.
“I’m thankful that my body of work has contributed to making positive change. ‘Hichki’ is a very special film for me and this honour as part of the colourful Indian International Film Festival of Melbourne makes it even more memorable,” she added.
Inclusion is the theme for IFFM this year, and “Hichki” – which delves on how a woman doesn’t let Tourette’s Syndrome come in the way of her dreams – is a good fit.
IFFM Director Mitu Bhowmick Lang said: “Rani is a rare Indian artiste who embodies the spirit of ‘inclusion’ in her work and performances.
“Whether it is in films like ‘Black’ or ‘Hichki’, she has championed the spirit of inclusion.”
27 years of ‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin’, Anupam and Pooja nostalgic
Mumbai– Actors Anupam Kher and Pooja Bhatt became nostalgic as their iconic film “Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin”, which also stars Aamir Khan and Tiku Talsania, clocked 27 years since its release on Thursday.
“‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi’ completes 27 years today. ‘Pooja beti bhaag jaa… Main duniya ka pehla baap hun jo apni beti ko shaadi ke mandap se bhaagne ke liye kahe raha hun’. This iconic dialogue was improvised on the spot. Pooja Bhatt and Aamir Khan were a delight to work with. Thank you Mahesh Bhatt,” Anupam tweeted.
In response to this, Pooja wrote: “And you were and remain the best ‘daddy’ on-screen.”
The romantic drama, directed by Pooja’s father Mahesh Bhatt, features the actress as a rich man’s daughter who elopes from home to be with her boyfriend. She meets Raghu, a struggling news reporter, who agrees to escort her to her destination. However, the two fall in love with each other.
Songs like “Dil hai ke manta nahin”, “O mere sapno ke saudagar”, “Galyat sankali sonyachi”, “Adaayein bhi hain” and “Tu pyaar hai kisi aur ka” from the film became hits.
Ankur Nayyar joins cast of ‘Nazar’
Mumbai– Actor Ankur Nayyar, known for shows like “Kasautii Zindagii Kay” and “Meri Durga”, has joined the cast of supernatural fantasy drama titled “Nazar”.
The show boasts casting popular faces on television, Ankur being one of them. He will be playing the role of the male lead’s on-screen father.
“I love to try new characters and this one seems to be really different and exciting. The concept of this show is unique and it made me curious to be a part of it,” Ankur said in a statement to IANS.
“I enjoy shooting at night with the spooky background music and the ambience on set. I am happy and grateful to be part of the show,” added the actor, who has also featured in movies like “Singham” and “Detective Naani”.
“Nazar” will soon be airing on Star Plus.
We have many reasons to be proud Indians: Chitrangda Singh
Mumbai– Actress-turned-producer Chitrangda Singh, gearing up for the release of her forthcoming production “Soorma”, says she feels a sense of pride in being an Indian.
Chitrangda interacted with the media on the sidelines of the fifth edition of NRI of the Year Awards ceremony hosted by ICICI Bank and Times Now here on Wednesday.
“My basic identity is of an Indian. Wherever I travel, people recognise me with face and skin color that I am an Indian, so it feels really proud,” she said.
“My father served for the Indian Army, so that patriotic feeling towards the country is much stronger. I think we all are very proud living in India and we have so many reasons to feel proud about it,” she added.
Chitrangda was among known names like Mandira Bedi, Samir Kochhar, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Indian football team skipper Sunil Chhetri and Akriti Kakkar, who attended the event here.
On her forthcoming film “Soorma”, based on the life of former Indian hockey team skipper Sandeep Singh, Chitrangda said: “I am just praying that people like our film and I am feeling really nervous… I have never felt so nervous in my life”.
“Soorma”, directed by Shaad Ali, is releasing on Friday.
Never imagined myself as an actor: Rajendra Chawla
Mumbai– Rajendra Chawla, known for featuring in shows like “Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai” and “Saas Bina Sasural”, says that since he came from a business background, he never imagined himself to become an actor someday.
Talking about the crossroad of his life, Rajendra said in a statement that it was a question of “choosing between the film and television industries. The interesting part is that I have a business background. I never imagined myself as an actor.
“I used to stay away from reading and when my family members forced me get settled, that’s when I pushed myself and got into acting with my father’s help.”
He shot for an episode of “Zindagi Ke Crossroads” for which he played Munshiji.
The story revolves around the honesty of the man who doesn’t want to do any bad to anyone and always believes in himself.
“My character in the show is that of a very honest and a simple man. I kept my father in my mind while preparing for my role as he is my idol and inspiration,” said Rajendra, who has also acted in films like “A Wednesday!” and “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story”. (IANS)
